This document describes a system to track the location and monitor the health of soldiers. It consists of a soldier's unit and a base unit. The soldier's unit uses a GPS module to determine location, a ZigBee transceiver to transmit data, and sensors to monitor heart rate and temperature. It is powered by a solar panel. The base unit receives the transmitted data and displays the soldier's location, heart rate, and temperature, allowing commanders to monitor soldiers and plan strategies. The system aims to help soldiers in dangerous situations and reduce injuries and deaths.
3. Introduction
• Soldier’s health is more important because they are the defenders for our country.
• Every year some Soldiers have lost, injured sometimes they died. So we want to
reduce these kind of things.
• After knowing the location of the soldier we can easily identify the navigation
between soldier to soldier such as knowing their speed, distance, height as well as
health status of them during the war, which enables the army general to plan the
war strategies
4. Problems faced by soldiers during wars
Sometimes soldiers want to know their location when they
become lost but they are not able to do so.
Sometimes soldiers need some help during panic situations
but they are not able to ask for help.
Sometimes soldiers are not able to get help when they get
injured during war.
Too much of coolness and hotness in some regions.
7. PIC-MICROCONTROLLER(PIC 16F877A)
• High performance
• Flash memory
• 368 bytes RAM
• 256 bytes of EEPROM
ADVANTAGES
• They are reliable and malfunctioning of PIC percentage is
very less.
• Performance of the PIC is very fast because of using RISC
architecture.
• Power conception is also very less when compared to
other micro controllers.
8. • When we see in the programmer point of view interfacing
is very easy.
• we can connect analog devices directly with out any extra
circuitry and use them.
• Programming is also very easy when compared to other
microcontrollers.
Disadvantages of PIC Microcontroller:
• The length of the program will be big because of using
RISC (35 instructions).
• Program memory is not accessible and only one single
accumulator is present.
9. GPS
• Global positioning system
• The module provides current time, latitude, longitude of the
soldier to the microcontroller
• The GPS does not require the user to transmit any data, and
it operates independently of any telephonic or internet
reception so it is called standalone GPS Module and requires
no external components except power supply decoupling
capacitors.
10. ZigBee
• A ZigBee transceiver is used to transmit the data.
• A ZigBee is low cost, low power, wireless mesh network
standard.
• Especially designed and developed for long battery life
devices in wireless controlling and monitoring applications.
• high-level communication protocols used to
create PAN with small, low-power digital radios.
• Hence, Zigbee is a low-power, low data rate, and close
proximity.
11. HEART BEAT SENSOR:
• Heart beat sensor is designed to give digital output of heart
beat when a finger is placed on it.
• This digital output will be interfaced to microcontroller directly
to measure the heartbeats in Beats per Minute (BPM) rate.
12. TEMPERATURE SENSOR:
• Temperature Sensor Human body temperature varies within a
narrow range of values.
• Body temperature can be measured from different parts of the
body, but for this, temperature will be measured from the ear
as it is one of the most accurate types of body temperature
measurement.
13. THERMO ELECTRIC COOLER:
• Thermoelectric coolers operate according to the Peltier effect.
• The effect creates a temperature difference by transferring heat
between two electrical junctions.
• A voltage is applied across joined conductors to create an electric
current.
• When the current flows through the junctions of the two conductors,
heat is removed at one junction and cooling occurs. Heat is deposited
at the other junction.
14. SOLAR PANEL
*The price of solar power has continued to fall so that in many
countries it is cheaper than ordinary fossil fuel electricity from the
grid and solar energy mostly available in all place so we use solar
panel for power supply.
*In case there is no availability of solar energy at that time we use
backup battery for the devices.
* We required minimum power for these devices operation
approximately 9V ,So we easily implemented the solar panel to that
devices.
15.
16. Conclusion
• We can conclude that we are able to transmit data
which is sensed from remote soldier to army control
room.
• The system is completely integrated and can track the
location of soldier at anytime from anywhere on the
earth using GPS receiver.
• This system helps to monitor health parameters of
soldier using heart beat sensor to measure heart beats
and temperature sensor to measure body
temperature of soldier.
