2. "BIG" Picture The concept is to establish a "scrapbook" of games/fun activities and pass them from their P.E. classes forward to the home and beyond. Learning Goals 1. To increase the participant's sense of personal confidence. - Students to increasingly view themselves as capable and competent - Succeeding and/or failing in a supportive group atmosphere 2. To increase mutual support within a group. - Anyone who conscientiously tries should be respected - Success/failure less important than making an effort - Use of teams, points and timed competition consciously minimized 3. 3. Game Description Blob Tag is a game of tagging that involves support from your teammates, coordination, confidence and is an advantage to the well being of the players. Materials Needed Group of people/children, boundaries

4. TEKs involved: Grade 3 (b) Knowledge and skills. (1) Movement. The student demonstrates competency in fundamental movement patterns and proficiency in a few specialized movement forms. The student is expected to: (A) travel in forward, sideways, and backwards and change direction quickly and safely in dynamic situations; (B) demonstrate proper form and smooth transitions during combinations of fundamental locomotor and body control skills such as running and jumping safely in dynamic situations; (C) demonstrate mature form in jogging, running, and leaping; (D) demonstrate moving in and out of a balanced position with control; (E) demonstrate proper body alignment in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; (2) Movement. The student applies movement concepts and principles to the learning and development of motor skills. The student is expected to: (B) know that practice, attention and effort are required to improve skills. Grade 4 (7) Social development. The student develops positive self-management and social skills needed to work independently and with others in physical activity settings. The student is expected to: (A) follow rules, procedures, and etiquette; (D) demonstrate effective communication, consideration and respect for the feelings of others during physical activities such as encourage others, allow others equal turns, and invite others to participate.

5. Two children lock their arms together and are it or "the blob."

6. All the other children lock arms and run to avoid being tagged by the blob.

7. If the Blob tags a child, they become part of the Blob and both children lock arms with the blob.

8. Only the end person of the Blob can tag other players.

9. If any person in the blob breaks arms they forfeit a tag.

10. If you break arms with your partner you are automatically caught.

11. Boundaries are marked at the beginning of the game and if you cross them you are automatically caught. Boundaries also tend to get smaller throughout the game so there is a tighter running space.

12. If any member of the blob crosses the boundaries they forfeit a tag.

13. Play until only one team is left and they win!
