Performance across key NHS metrics was mixed in May and June. Waiting times for diagnostic services increased as did waits over 36 weeks for treatment, while cancer treatment times decreased for urgent cases but increased for non-urgent. A&E performance declined slightly for the 4 hour target but fewer patients waited over 12 hours. Delayed transfers of care and average daily ambulance calls remained steady.
2. A&E performance against the 4
hour target decreased slightly this
month, but fewer patients spent
longer than 12 hours in A&E. The number of patients
waiting over 8 weeks
for diagnostic services
increased and the
number waiting over 14
weeks for therapy
services also increased.
The percentage of patients waiting less
than 26 weeks from referral to treatment
decreased and the number waiting
longer than 36 weeks increased.
The average number
of daily referrals
received increased
over the month.
The percentage of cancer
patients starting treatment
within the target time
decreased for patients on the
urgent pathway but increased
for patients on the non urgent
pathway.
Average daily calls
to the ambulance
service were the
same as last
month; the target
was met, and
performance
improved since the
previous month.
The number of
delayed
transfers of care
increased this
month.

via the Urgent route started
treatment within target time
(62 days), down 5.3
