Stephen remembers when GIFs started animating, when Netscape updates were an event, and waiting 15 minutes to download a Quicktime video about an exploding whale. He officially held the title "Webmaster" when it wasn't embarrassing. He is now explaining to marketers that, yes, all the banners will animate; that, no, you can't make something "go" viral; and that social media is a movement, not a channel.
