Services Provided by Chai Lifeline
For many families of children undergoing
extensive hospital stays, every day can bring new
stresses. To help these individuals cope with the
demands of long-term medical treatment, Chai
Lifeline provides assistance in areas such as
insurance, case management, transportation
services, and even meal support, which entails
delivering food to children in the hospital and to
families at home.

Additionally, through its extensive counseling program, Chai
Lifeline helps all members of affected families come to terms
with a serious pediatric illness. Counseling services offered by the
organization include the Donald Alan Harris Healing Hearts
Bereavement Program, which puts on a weekend retreat once a
year for grieving families who have lost a child, and the Bernard
and Lucille Katz Chailine Telephone Support Groups, which
meet biweekly in the form of a conference call with a trained
therapist.
