The document introduces WatchConnect, a toolkit for prototyping smartwatch-centric cross-device applications. WatchConnect abstracts input, output and processing into high-level objects, events and UI components to allow for rapid prototyping of applications involving a smartwatch and other devices. It aims to help explore the design space of next generation watch-centric interactions within a user's entire device ecology. Future work could include support for real smartwatches, collaborative setups on shared surfaces, and other devices to create more elaborate device ecologies.
