- The first finalist: Inspired by several colorful plates of the collection of the Rijksmuseum,
- Richard Hutten created new plates. For these items he used patterns of existing plates, which he streched by zooming on the pixel.
- The Milkmaid by Johannes Vermeer was the inspiration for many entries. Two of the those are part of the final 10. The aim of our next contestant Spyros Drosopoulos was to transform the athmosphere of the painting The Milkmaid into a scent that can be worn as a perfume.
- In order to transform the painting into perfume he gave each aspect of the painting its own accord. For example the milkmaid is given a musk note and her surrounding a bread and wood accord.
- Another finalist inspired by Vermeer is Merel Kamp. With the Pouring Light lamp she tried to capture both the streaming light as the streaming milk in one object.
- Our fifth finalist based her creation on various works of art. Her recurrent preference for Asian art and birds made her decide to create a wallpaper collection based on some wonderful Japanese prints and birds.
- Ottoline de Vries created the patterns from details of the selected art.
- Self portraits of the Rijksmuseum Dutch masters were used by our next finalists.
- Venividimultiplex created the Masterhat. When viewed from behind it looks like one of the Masters just stepped out into every day life and watches you closely.
- The inspiration for the next entry comes from a Delft Blue plate.
- Josh Moll copied the plate and changed it into a knitting chart. The entry is a DIY Delft blue hat package with pattern and wool.
- The last of our ten finalists uses the illusive light of Holland reflected in bone china.
- Willemse and Mulder took cloudy skies out of Dutch paintings and created a Dutch Light Bone china service.
- The next creation is based on colour schemes extracted from female portraits as seen on the screen.
