This fine Grande Marque house uses a high proportion of its own grapes in their blends, 85% of which are from Grand Cru or
Premier Cru vineyards. Pinot Noir is the predominant variety, but this is cleverly teamed with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier to
produce their famous, opulent house style.

Dom Pérignon
There is no greater figure in the annals of Champagne than Dom Pierre Pérignon, who, at the Abbey of Hautvillers, dedicated
47 years of his life to raising the art of wine making to another level. The wine that now carries his name is a worthy legacy
– no other Champagne manages to combine such perfection with such dash and panache.

Gardet
Established at the end of the 19th century, Champagne Gardet owns seven hectares of Premier Cru vineyards with the rest of their
requirements being bought in from growers with whom they have formed long and close relationships. Stéphanie Sucheyre took
over as wine maker in 2007 bringing with her a fresh approach and renewed dynamism. She is taking full advantage of all the
opportunities that modern technology offers but is determined to guard the traditions of this well grounded family business.

Gosset
Pierre Gosset was Mayor of Ay when, in 1584, he founded his boutique Champagne House. Gosset still has a site in Ay although
they have now a grander establishment in Épernay as well. They attach great importance to the specific character of each
individual terroir and, using their long standing contacts, they blend together the best Crus from 45 Grand and Premier Cru
villages to great effect. They believe in the old ways, not only is the fruit all harvested by hand, but the ‘rémuage’ (turning of the
bottles) is all done by hand as well. The results speak for themselves.

Krug
From its foundation in 1843, the much respected House of Krug realised that the secret of Champagne lay in the blending rather
than in reliance on the wines of a single year. Krug Grande Cuvée is blended from up to 30 different Premier Cru plots, some
no bigger than a back garden, and from as many as ten different vintages, all barrel fermented. Lovingly hand crafted, this is a
creamy beauty.

Laurent-Perrier
It is fair to say that LP did not amount to very much when, in 1938, it was bought by the Marie-Louise Lanson de Nonancourt.
Over the years, however, the family have worked wonders and entirely due to their dedication, vision, and determination Laurent-
Perrier is now the third largest selling Champagne in the world. As befits such a traditional outfit, the current ‘Chef de Cave’,
Michel Fauconnet, has spent his working lifetime with the family. He, together with the current young generation of de
Nonancourt’s, Alexandra and Stephanie, is carrying the company forward.

Louis Roederer
One of the main strengths of this fine Champagne House is that it owns 214 hectares of vines in the three main Champagne
regions (Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and the Côtes des Blancs) which provides two thirds of its needs. They believe
that the secret of any fine wine lies in the vineyards and it is no coincidence, therefore, that their Cellar Director is also their
Vineyard Director. Rich, powerful and classy,‘Roederer’ is hard to beat.

Pol Roger
Still family owned, Pol Roger may be one of the smallest of the ‘Grand Marque’ Champagne Houses but it is one of the very finest.
They own 87 hectares of vineyards and their seven kilometres of chalk cellars in Épernay are the coolest and deepest of the region,
which probably accounts for the exceptional finesse of their bubbles. Altogether a class act.

Paul Herard
The house of Paul Herard, situated in the Aube, was founded in 1925 and is well known for its Blanc de Noirs Champagne produced
from 100% Pinot Noir. The style is robust and beguiling with red berry fruit, mineral notes and refreshing acidity.

Sparkling
Richemont, Philippe Herard
This beautifully made sparkler comes from former Champagne producer Philippe Herard who has found a new home in
Burgundy’s Côte d’Or. It is made ‘Methode Traditionelle’ (both fermentations taking place in bottle) and all the wine making skills
of this long established wine making family are brought into play to great effect. Many different grape varieties are employed, each
carefully selected because they contribute something special to the final blend. Richemont NV is original, fragrant, and classical
with a lovely persistent mousse.

Château Angludet Margaux
Owned and managed by the Sichel family, Angludet has a great ‘terroir’ in Margaux overlooking the lower lying land of the
Gironde. Covering 81 hectares with vines averaging 25 years old, Château Angludet is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc
which, over time, has proved their name synonymous with quality. This is a real gem and terrific value.

Château Beaumont Haut-Médoc
This large estate has a fine position right in the centre of the Médoc between Saint-Julien and Margaux. Beaumont is passionate
about sustainable farming and they are justly proud of their certification by ‘Terra Vitis’; wines from this estate have been getting
better and better of late. Both rich and crowd pleasing they are amongst the best of the Cru Bourgeois.

Château Capbern Gasqueton Saint-Estèphe
This is owned and managed by Château Calon Segur. It is a great property lying close to the Gironde with a very friendly
micro climate. Add to that careful oak ageing and hand harvesting and you begin to see that this is a Château that is serious
about quality.

Château Calon Segur Saint-Estèphe
Château Calon Segur is in the most northern part of the Médoc Cru Classe, boasting third growth status and was owned by the
Gasqueton family until only recently. It was the Marquis de Segur who commissioned the heart on the label to reflect his affection
for Calon, even though he also owned Lafite and Latour at the time. They produce wonderful wines that age long and gracefully in
true St Estèphe style.

It is quite a trek out to Mauriac but you only have to meet Bernard Yon to know that you have come to the right place, he is such a

Lanessan is an estate that is fully worthy of its Cru Bourgeois status. It has a great position on a gravelly plateau in the centre of the

Château Larrivet Haut Brion Pessac-Léognan
Larrivet Haut Brion is an exceptional property situated on a gravel ridge alongside La Louviere in the Southern part of Pessac-
Léognan. The Château rather lost it’s way during the mid 20th century but has been restored to it’s former glory under the
guidance of the Gervoson family who acquired the estate in 1987.

Château du Moulin Rouge Haut-Médoc
This estate has been passed down through thirteen generations of the same family and it would be an understatement to say that
they were passionate about it. It has a great position just south of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, they use plenty of new oak and
everything is worked by hand. A favourite of Robert Parker, who in his book ‘Bordeaux’ describes it as: “… somewhat reminiscent
of such wines as Hortevie and Terrey-Gros-Caillou. Of course, du Moulin Rouge is significantly less expensive since it is entitled
only to the Haut-Médoc appellation”.

Château Olivier Pessac-Léognan
Surrounded by moats and an immense forest, this 12th Century Château is truly a sight to behold. Fashioned by the terroir in
which they are rooted, shaped by all those who work the vines day after day, the wines of Château Olivier are a magnificent
expression of their appellation among the six Classified Growths of Graves.

Château Rocher-Calon Montagne-Saint-Émilion
Returning home after WW1, Pierre Lagardere, current owner Gael’s great grandfather, bought a hectare of land in Pomerol thus
beginning the family tradition of winemaking. Over the next four generations the family increased their acreage through the
acquisition of new vineyards throughout Libournais and recently invested in state of the art equipment – boasting temperature
controlled aging cellars, pneumatic wine press and micro-oxygenation equipment. Château Rocher-Calon is situated on some of
the best soils of Montagne Saint-Émilion and normally constitutes a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. A qualitive
approach to viticulture is standard, with green harvesting, leaf-removals and hand picking the norm.

Sauternes
Bordeaux’s most famous dessert wine producing region is situated 20 miles south of the city, spanning both banks of the Garrone
and Ciron Rivers. These waterways provide the perfect misty morning microclimate to encourage the growth of Botrytis Cinerea
(also known as Noble Rot). The rot attacks the grape evaporating the water, concentrating the sugar levels. Sauternes are some of
the longest lived wines with premium examples from exceptional vintages having the potential to last 100 years or more. They are
characterised by their balance of sweetness and zest of acidity with typical notes of apricots, honey, peaches with a nutty edge.

Monbazillac
Domaine Fonmourgues
“We hope to be fully organic with the 2014 vintage” enthuses Dominique Vidal, the owner of Domaine Fonmourgues,“we are
nearly there”. The whole operation at this tiny estate is managed by hand, from harvesting the fruit to getting the wine into the
bottle. Only the ripest, botrytis affected, grapes are selected and the yields, which average between 20 to 30 hectolitres per hectare,
are tiny; quality here overrules quantity. The two classic Sauternes grapes, Semillon (60%) and Sauvignon (10%) form the major
part of the blend, but it is the additional 30% of Muscadelle that gives Fonmourgues its true character. Luxuriously rich and
gloriously sweet, this is not so much a rival to Sauternes as an enjoyable alternative.

Bachelet-Monnot Côte de Beaune
In an area as steeped in tradition as Burgundy it is rare to come across something new and exciting but here is one. Marc and
Alexandre Bachelot studied at the Lycée Viticole in Beaune, then gained extensive experience working in family and other
Burgundy estates before setting up their own Domaine in 2005. Although they respect local traditions they are determined
innovators; this Domaine is one to watch.

Domaine Chêne Mâconnais
With vineyards in two top locations in the Mâconnais, La Roche-Vineuse and St Veran, this large Domaine has a huge amount to
offer. The family are dedicated supporters of the ‘Lutte Raisonee’ (minimum intervention) system of agriculture and they keep
yields low, which ups the quality no end. They have attracted more than their fair share of media attention (Guide Hachette,
Decanter, La Revue de Vins de France) and won several medals – Paris, Mâcon, and elsewhere.

Cave Talmard Mâconnais
Uchizy lies to the north of Mâcon, next to the village of Chardonnay. Not much happens other than wine making and Talmard is
the big name here. The Domaine is modern but the culture is traditional. Wines from Marnay – a ‘lieu dit’ – are richly fruited, dry
and well rounded, and a fine example of how good Mâcon can be.

Frederic Prain Chablis
Frederic is incredibly passionate about his vines and winemaking. He is an engineer by profession which probably came in useful
when in the early 1980’s he took over Domaine d’Elise in Chablis. This fascinating pocket size Domaine, which lies at Milly just
above the Premier Cru vineyards of the Côte de Léchet, is split almost equally between Petit Chablis and Chablis although both
parts share much the same ‘terroir’.

Domaine des Malandes Chablis
The strength of this family Domaine lies in their having vineyards in all the Chablis appellations. A scion of the Tremblay family
(growers in Chablis for generations), Lyne Marchive together with her husband, Jean Bernard, manages the estate with a sure hand.
They know the region well and believe firmly that the best results can be achieved only if you are respectful of the soil; they are
skilful in the cellars too, treating each cuvée according to its needs. Sometimes oak is brought into play, but never when they feel
that this could suppress the purity of the fruit.

Evolution rather than revolution rules here – meticulous vineyard management, strict control in the cellar and barrel fermentation
all combine to turn out wines of glorious quality. Gerard Boudot’s daughter and son-in-law now run the family estate carrying on
Gerard’s great work.

Joseph Voillot Côte de Beaune
This Domaine has a big footprint south of Beaune with thirty two parcels, including some of Volnay and Pommard’s finest, all
under the benevolent control of Joseph Voillot’s son-in-law, Jean-Pierre Charlot. Having taught for many years at Lycée Viticole in
Beaune, Jean-Pierre brings a thoughtful, modern approach to wine making and his wines have a delicacy and purity of flavour that

Marchand Frères Côtes de Nuits
This venerable organisation has been passed down father to son since 1813. Over the years an enviable portfolio of top estates has

the business is now managed by Denis Marchand, who is putting his own stamp on this long established family concern.

Bernard Michelot’s son-in-law, Jean-François Mestre, has control of the vines and the wine making at this family property and he is
doing a terrific job. He has worked wonders in the vineyards, believing that good wine can come only from perfect fruit and he is
meticulous in the cellar too. This Domaine has been reinvigorated and is once again amongst Meursault’s finest.

Paul Pillot Côte de Beaune
The family is looking to the future here as Thierry Pillot, Paul’s oldest son, now works alongside him, bringing a new perspective
and renewed energy to the old ways. The vineyards lie in the heart of Burgundy, mostly in Chassagne Montrachet and St Aubin.
Yields are controlled, fermentation is traditional, and the wines are matured in oak – up to 25% of which is new. They set their
sights on quality and they are achieving it.

Pierre Morey Côte de Beaune
The Morey’s arrived in Meursault in 1793 so Pierre Morey and his daughter Anne, who now works with him, can justly claim to
know the culture of the region inside out. What’s their secret? Well, they have some wonderful vineyards, but this estate has been
organic since 1992 and from 1997 they became fully biodynamic so they work with nature rather than against it. After that, it is little
more than an unswerving determination to make the best wine they can by combining traditional methods with modern techniques.

Domaine Lois Dufouleur Côte de Beaune
Established in 1978 by Philippe and Anne-Marie Dufouleur, the Domaine was named after the couples youngest son, Lois. The estate
covers just over five hectares, including holdings in Beaune 1er Cru Cent-Vignes and Beaune 1er Cru Clos de Roi. This is strictly a
family affair with the vineyard work and winemaking handled in house with a style that truly reflects the terroir of the Beaune
appellation. The wines are seductive and forward in their youth, developing savoury notes and complexity with bottle age.

Domaine Sève Mâconnais
This small but impeccable family property lies on the steep slopes overlooking Solutré, one of the finest of all the Mâcon villages and
the very core of the appellation. Sylvie and Jean-Pierre Sève, the current generation, use oak carefully not to create oaky flavours but
to allow an exchange between oxygen and the developing wine, with spectacular results. It was Pouilly-Fuissé such as this that
gained the commune world wide acclaim originally.

Michel Picard Côte de Beaune
Located at Château de Chassagne-Montrachet, Michel Picard was first established by Michel’s father Louis Felix Picard, in 1951, who
at the time owned two hectares of vines at Chagny. The family now operate one of the largest holdings in Burgundy from their
prestigious base. The Voarick Estate is situated in the heartland of Saint-Martin Sous Montagny, close to Mercurey, an estate that
excels in the production of well priced, quality Bourgogne Pinot Noir.

François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier work in partnership with many wine growing families in the Rhône Valley, allowing

This estate lies on the rocky plateau of des Roques, a hamlet on the outskirts of Vacqueyras. Owned and run by the Seroul family,
this is managed on traditional lines with the harvesting and sorting of all the fruit carried out by hand. The blend is classic Southern
Rhône Valley (70% Grenache, 15% Marsanne, and 15% Syrah) with the vines being, on average, over forty years old. Eclipsed to some
extent by the wines from its more illustrious neighbours, Gigondas and Châteauneuf, Vacqueyras has plenty to offer and deserves to
be much better known.

Domaine Font de Michelle
Font de Michelle owes its current form to Etienne Gonnet, who worked closely with his brother-in-law Henri Brunier of Vieux
Télégraphe – the neighbouring estate in Bédarrides. It is now owned by his sons Michel and Jean, and largely run by their sons
Guillaume and Bertrand respectively, with the help of Guillaume’s Australian wife, Kelly. Their house style is all about purity and
expression of fruit. The wine is matured in large old barrels called “foudres” and smaller-size oak fûts, or casks that are used for only
two to five wine maturations.

Caves de Pouilly-sur-Loire
Pouilly-Fumé lies across the river Loire from Sancerre where it produces only half as much wine as its better known neighbour.
The region has many small growers and some of the best of these have grouped together to form ‘Caves de Pouilly-sur-Loire’
reasoning that by pooling resources they are assured access to the best wine making facilities available. This is of enormous help
in making vibrant, aromatic Sauvignon in this relatively northern wine growing area. Well founded and well managed, wines made
by this organisation are always excellent.

The Becker family’s winemaking legacy dates back to 1610 in Zellenberg, with the estate now in the hands of the 13th generation.

Grandiose
‘Grandiose’ is the name for the series of top quality varietals that are selected and produced under the watchful eye of a group of
growers in the South of France. Their Sauvignon comes from the Gascony region to the west of Toulouse. At harvest time, two
pickings are made, the early one gives freshness and the grassy aromas and the second, which is made when the grapes are more
developed, adds the richer flavours and the smooth texture.

Domaine de Pellehaut
This fine Domaine, which lies in the Gers, in South West France has been in the same family for over 300 years, a record that few
others can match. The two brothers, Martin and Mathieu Beraut, who are now in charge produce a range of wines with only the best
cuvées being allowed to carry the estate name. Their wine making is of the very highest order; their white is an exotic mix of
traditional grapes, and local varieties such as Manseng; their red is a pungent blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tannat, and Syrah
which is partially oak aged. The Rosé is made from the same varieties but the juice is drawn off before it absorbs too much colour.

Linter, daughter of founders Janet and Rodney Pratt, took over the wine making. Samantha, who gave up teaching hairdressing to

S A Prüm
The Prüm name has been synonymous with quality wine production in the Mosel for generations, where the family has been
cultivating vineyards and producing wine in the region since 1156. In summary, S A Prüm was the original, dominant Prüm name until
1911 when branches of the family went their own ways (e.g. J J Prüm). The grandson of the vineyard´s namesake, Sebastian Alois Prüm
(1794-1871), also Sebastian Alois, established the winery in 1911. His son and now grandson, the present day Raimund, who inherited
the vineyards in 1971, continue the traditions with his daughter Saskia. Since 1971 the winery was modernised and the vineyards
further developed, consistently producing wines with an international following. The 13 ha of vineyards are exclusively planted with
Riesling on the steep slopes of the middle Mosel.

Tuscany Azienda Agricola Montauto
The Maremma is often referred to as the ‘Wild West’, both in terms of its landscapes and its winemaking. While in Northern
Tuscany, the Etruscans were making wine thousands of years before, the Maremma used to be a wild, swampy backwater and
viticulture was only introduced to the region in the 19th century. Riccardo Lepri’s family has produced artisan wines for nearly
sixty years at the Montauto estate, nestled 200 metres above sea level on a clay rich soil the vineyards benefit from a cooling sea

Named in honour of the oenologist’s grandfather, Avelino, Quinta do Avelino was created. The family’s history of wine making goes
back more than a hundred years with the fourth generation now in charge. Their only wine is made from 100% Treixadura, a white
grape variety found in the Ribeiro region, grown on nearly three hectares cultivated naturally and hand harvested. The grape must is
drawn and fermented and very low temperatures to keep the aromatic concentration at its most pure and is then aged on the lees.

This thoroughly up to date winery lies just to the south of Barcelona only ten kilometres from the Mediterranean. Fully organic,
this estate is blessed with many different types of soil so they can produce wines of diversity and complexity. The Cava they make
is a fine example: Parellada from the hills gives floral freshness, Macabeu from the middle heights adds fruitiness, and Xarel-lo

Castilla Y Leon Viña Albares
The Viña Albares vineyards cover around 25 hectares, just to the south of Albares in the wine growing region of El Bierzo. Once
owned by the Archbishop of Tarragona, they lie on the old pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela; some of the plots are over
100 years old and the fruit produced is of exceptional quality. The indigenous grape in this area is Mencia, a variety that has a
concentrated black cherry, herbal character which makes it really special. Careful vineyard management, hand picking and
thoughtful use of French oak complete the picture.

Emporda Cellar Martí Fabra–Masia Carreras
Masia Carreras is a collection of small vineyard plots situated in the Catalan hillsides of the Alberes Mountain Range, where the
Carreras family have produced wine since the 13th century. Towards the end of the 19th century, many of the family’s vineyards
were decimated by phyloxera and only the best sites were retained and re-planted in the early part of 20th century. The vineyard
boasts a wealth of autochthonous varieties including Lladoner, a derivation of Grenache all of which have naturally evolved
without the use of mass selection or implementation of uniform clones, meaning that no one vine is the same as the next. The
low yielding indigenous vines are around 60-80 years old and are supplemented by younger plantings of international varieties, to
provide balance when blended. The wines of Masia Carreras are complex and unique, a throwback to the great wines of long ago.

Rías Baixas Adegas Pombal a Lanzada
Adegas Pombal a Lanzada is a small family owned and operated winery drawing from two hectares of vines from some of the finest
terroirs of Rías Baixas. The name derives from a long stretch of beach, which the winery overlooks called ‘La Playa Lanzada’. The
family has been growing grapes and producing wine from their vines for generations, they have only recently made the wine
commercially available to the general public. All of the vines are cultivated organically and hand harvested before undertaking
fermentation in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation is prevented from taking place in order to
preserve the purity of fruit, with six months ageing on the lees to provide extra depth and complexity.

San Juan Finca Las Moras
Finca Las Moras, Est 2001, is a pioneer winery dedicated to the production of high-quality wines located in the province of
San Juan, the second largest wine region in Argentina after Mendoza. The Reserva range is sourced from the Perdenal Valley,
renowned for producing quality wines at high altitude, averaging 1300m, which offers an abundance of bright sunshine and heat
during the day with a cool temperature at night. This large ‘diurnal’ temperature results in perfect growing conditions in an area
that would otherwise be considered too hot for grape growing. The Perdenal (Spanish for flint) Valley has a unique soil that
imparts a mineral edge to the wines and is also exposed to the ‘Zonda’, a continuous hot and dry wind which helps control
moisture and disease. These unique conditions allow grapes to thrive resulting in well balanced ripeness and acidity. San Juan is
particularly suited to the production of Malbec, Syrah and Chardonnay.

Waipara Mount Brown
Lying in the foothills of Mount Brown in Waipara Valley this abandoned wine estate was only rediscovered ten years ago and it is
something of a success story. Waipara has a greater variation in temperature between night and day than more northerly
Marlborough, yields are much lower, and this valley is fast establishing a reputation for quality. Aromatics such as Pinot Gris, and
also Pinot Noir, are perfectly suited to Mount Brown’s small sheltered stony site and wine making here is of a very high order.

The wine making is modern, but there is more than a nod towards tradition; in ‘Little Beauty’ the best of new and the best of the

Hawkes Bay Paritua
‘Paritua Vineyards’ is anchored firmly in the heart of North Island’s Hawkes Bay region. The fruit used by Paritua is sourced from
the stony soils that are typical in this area, Pinot Noir being the exception in that it is brought up from South Island’s Central
Otago. Wines bearing the boutique Paritua label are produced only in outstanding years whilst the Stone Paddock selection is
made every year using either fruit grown on their own estate or from carefully selected regional vineyards. So good are their wines
that it hard to believe that the first vines arrived here only in 2003.

Robertson Vierkoppen
Not every English wine grower has vines also in the New World, but Daphne and David Briscoe are nothing if not adventurous.
Having learned their craft at their small vineyard in Hertfordshire, they jumped at the chance when Vierkoppen, a 30 acre estate
lying in the Brede River Valley in South Africa, came up for sale. The fruit is selected bunch by bunch and then picked by hand,
the pressing is done manually and there is ‘minimum intervention’. Their wines are rich and opulent and we think that this small
‘garage estate’ has bags of potential.

Broken or out of condition items must be reported immediately. Prices valid until April 2016.
Sale or return by prior agreement only
All goods returned must be in a resalable condition and only unopened cases will be accepted. We are unable to accept any items that do not appear in this
list. A minimum collection charge of £8.47 ex VAT will be applied to all sale or return orders.
Availability and substitutions
We do our utmost to make sure that every wine in the price list is available. From time to time we may run out of a particular wine or vintage, when this
happens we will contact you to try and offer a suitable alternative.
Delivery charges
Delivery is FREE for orders over £250 +VAT to a single UK mainland address, additional charges may apply to areas of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isle
of Wight. All orders of less than £250 +VAT will be subject to a delivery charge (minimum £8.47 +VAT).
