In our country Hinduism is considered to be the most important marginal religion next to Islam. Ever since the British period many Hindus have migrated to our country from all around the sub-continent. According to 2018 world population review 19.58 million people live in Dhaka. Apart from the Muslims all other religions are clustered into only 10% of this population, among which Hinduism is most practiced. This religion is rich with various norms and codes of conduct, applied through many events and festivals that shape their eating habits quite a bit. Most of these Hindu people of our city are accustomed to have vegetarian food the present Bangladeshi market is mostly designed and shaped by following the Islamic religion. So, this is having quite an impact on the Hindus, and now a days, even though there is a considerable number of restaurants providing vegetarian food, we rarely see Hindu people eating there. This issue creates confusion among marketers because vegetarianism is seen most in the Hindus, so naturally they expect more number of Hindu customers in their restaurants. We write this paper on the basis of this consumer behaviour issue and after identifying the market gap or problems leading to such a behaviour from our research we have attempted to provide some solutions and recommended strategies that marketers may adopt in solving this consumer behaviour issue after proper analysis.
