To Whom It May Concern:
Re: Letter of Recommendation for Susana Patricia Gomez
I am very pleased to recommend Susana “Suzie” Gomez and to support her in any future endeavors. She has
been an outstanding volunteer for Angel Flight Soars for many years and has recently joined our staff as the
administrative assistant on a part-time basis.
Angel Flight Soars is an organization of volunteer pilots who donate their time and resources to fly people to
medical care that is not available in their local area. Oftentimes, this medical care is a last effort for lifesaving
treatment and the hope of receiving it is possible only through assistance with free transportation. Being the
Executive Director of Angel Flight Soars, I am blessed to be surrounded by the most compassionate and selfless
people every day of my life. But even with our hundreds of members, Suzie stands out as truly making a
difference within our community. I am extremely proud to be writing to you about her involvement with Angel
Flight Soars.
I’ve had the good fortune of working with Suzie since 2002 on several projects as she has volunteered countless
hours and engaged in immeasurable acts of kindness to further our mission. She became involved when she
volunteered after school on Wednesdays because her mom worked for our organization on a part-time basis.
After completing her homework, she quickly offered to help in any area in which our organization had a need. Her
duties were flexible and she demonstrated a strong ability to handle details in a constantly changing environment.
Her ability and willingness to interact with the myriad of people in our organization indicates her maturity and team
player attitude.
Throughout the years, I have witnessed Suzie identify and respond to the countless needs that our growing
organization has encountered. Most importantly, she has worked to help spread the word of our great service to
the community. Outreach is the most important, yet most challenging task that charitable organizations face due
to limited staff and budgetary constraints. Suzie has helped us overcome this hurdle by working at booths at
several fundraising functions and helping to educate everyone that we are here to help. These engagements help
recruit volunteers, financial supporters and people in need of our service. Therefore, Suzie’s enthusiasm is
inspiring other community-minded people to support Angel Flight Soars so that we may continue to reach those
who need us. Suzie performs these acts without a second thought, rising to meet the needs of others through her
generosity and kindness.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Suzie and what she means to this community and our organization.
Part of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s definition of success reads “to know that even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived … This is to have succeeded.” Well, Suzie certainly has helped a lot of people in our
community to breathe easier, including myself.
In conclusion, I believe that she exemplifies the traits that we all look for: leadership, dedication to the community,
loyalty, compassion, maturity and sincerity. These are just a few qualities that Suzie will offer, and I am confident
she will bring much real life experience and will prove to be a positive contributor in all her future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Jeanine Chambers
