4. INTRODUCTION
The purpose is to develop an efficient and systematic “ Garbage
Monitoring System “ by using Internet of Things (IoT) platform.
The proposed system uses ultrasonic sensors placed over the bins
to detect the garbage level and compare it with the garbage
bins depth.
The proposed system are needed for the immediate cleaning of
the dustbins.
6. PROBLEM STATEMENT
Two main problems that can be highlighted in this project :
Current garbage collection is inefficient, time waste and
required a huge amount of human energy.
It will create an unhygienic condition for surrounding
environment and creates bad smell which can lead to spread
some deadly disease and human illness.
8. OBJECTIVES
1) To study the use of IoT in garbage monitoring system
2) To design a systematic garbage monitoring system

LIMITATION
18. ITERATIVE AND INCREMENTAL
MODEL
The basic idea: To develop a system through repeated cycles (iterative) and in
smaller portions at a time (incremental),
allowing software developers to take advantage of what was learned during
development of earlier parts or versions of the system.
Advantages : analysing risk better than other model and it support
changing requirement.
The developing process of this model can still be proceeding even there is some
problem arise or there is any changes needed in the middle of development
process.
21. FUNCTION OF DEVICES
An Ultrasonic sensor is a device that
can measure the distance to an
object by using sound waves.
It measures distance by sending out
a sound wave at a specific
frequency and listening for that
sound wave to bounce back.ULTRASONIC SENSOR

Node MCU is an open source IoT
platform
Connect to the Internet
Send data to the cloud
23. Liquid Crystal Display(LCD)
Allow to display the percentage of
the garbage.
Able to display the short note of the
garbage information.
24. GSM Modem
When a GSM modem is connected to a
computer, this allows the computer to
communicate over the mobile network.
Also can be used for sending and receiving SMS
and MMS message.
GSM Modem sends and receives data through
radio waves.
