Sycous are a team of metering, remote and automatic meter reading and
software experts.
We supply all the hardware, software and support necessary to ensure a district
or community energy scheme is financially sustainable. This include commercial
and domestic meters, remote and automatic meter reading and the mySycous
web-application for energy monitoring and consumer billing.
We are solely focused on delivering cutting-edge metering, monitoring and billing
solutions that put the energy network operator in control. We don’t believe in
‘closed-protocol’ systems that prevent consumers and energy network operators
switching service providers.

4. Remote and Automatic Meter Reading
Sycous offer a range of remote and automatic meter reading solutions.
• Range of outputs including MBus, Pulse/Radio, DLC etc.
• Wireless and hardwired solutions suitable for new-build or retrofits
• Range of meter reading frequencies from half-hourly to monthly
• Supports a range of data transmission formats from email to FTP (directly into
a server for validation and billing)
Sycous undertake surveys prior to installation, wherever possible, to ensure the
suitability of the system and provide ongoing technical support.
5. mySycous Web Application
mySycous provides Energy and Heat Network Operators a
single interface to manage their metering assets, import smart meter
data and bill consumers for their consumption.
mySycous delivers increased levels of efficiency across business
processes, better utilisation of resources, greater flexibility, risk
mitigation and control of cash flow and performance.
mySycous allows Energy and Heat Network Operators the freedom to
choose and install the hardware and metering most suitable for their
energy network, without the fear of being tied into outsourcing, or
being tied into one service provider.
6. Meter Data Importation
mySycous allows data two be imported in two simple ways…
Automatic importation is when a file type is dropped into an ftp server.
This data is then allocated to a client and then to a meter record.
If we cannot find a matching data collector/meter serial record in
the database, we flag this to the client through a workflow.
Manual importation is when a .csv file or manual data is either bulk
uploaded or manually entered against a meter record.
We manage this data in the same way as we do automatic
importation.
We support a range of formats and changes can be made to accept
additional formats as required.
7. Meter Data Validation
mySycous validates data in in two simple ways…
Fundamental Validation ensures that a corresponding record exists in
the mySycous database, the record is more recent than the last one we
received and the reading has not decreased. If we find irregularities
these are then highlighted.
Consumer Level Validation then works against a number of meter type,
supply and client specific rules. These are designed to highlight any data
irregularities for further investigation.
Meter Data Validation basically ensures that ‘big data’ received from
meters is correct and ready for billing!

8. Consumer Statements
mySycous offers bespoke and client branded monthly or quarterly
statements that provide the following key information:
• Supply and property information
• Statement specific information
• Financial information with a VAT breakdown
• Fixed and variable tariff information
• Meter and reading information
• Client specific information on ‘ways to pay’
• Consumer support contact
• Energy saving and peer comparison information
9. Online Account Management
mySycous provides all property owners and consumers online account
access.
Clients minimise their costs, avoiding postage costs and providing
enhanced levels of customer service – allowing these savings to be
passed to consumers with more competitive tariffs!
Property owners and their managing agents can check on the status of
tenants consumer accounts to minimise their potential debt liability, as
well as registering new tenants.
Consumers can view their accounts, current and previous statements,
meter consumption data, peer comparisons and create queries.
10. Consumer Payment Methods
mySycous allows clients to offer the most cost effective and appropriate
payment method for their consumers.
Payments are uploaded via a .csv bulk upload or individual allocation
with either a mySycous or client specified consumer reference to ensure
payments are against the correct accounts.
Payments can be automatically uploaded with files from payment
service providers such as allpay™ directly placing files into an ftp server.
Direct debit export files can be generated from mySycous for consumers
wishing to pay by Direct Debit.
11. Minimising Debt
mySycous integrates with client credit control and debt recovery
processes with a three-stage debt recovery process.
Automatic or manual generation of credit control emails and letters.
Highlight non-payers for telephone calls, additional actions, including
disconnections.
Provide transparency of levels of debt and collection rates.
12. Consumer Care
mySycous enables clients to offer exceptional levels of consumer care to
all consumers.
This is not just about ensuring a cost-effective meter data management
and billing application.
mySycous is built on workflows, which are system, client user and
consumer generated actions or diary entries that require a potential
manual intervention. This allows minimum resources to manage by
exception and not by bulk, focusing only on what is required.
13. Reporting and Application Management
mySycous empowers clients with full data transparency and a report
builder enabling them to run and automatically schedule bespoke
reports to meet their own commercial management requirements.
We do also provide a range of ‘fixed’ reports for all clients with
fundamental information, such as financial reconciliation and credit
control reports.
mySycous also allows the application to be managed in-house with
client managers controlling their own users, documents and system.
14. Technical Support
The Sycous technical support team are on hand offering:
• Guidance and support to select the right metering and data collection solution
for each application
• Support pre-installation, during installation and post-installation from
manufacturer trained technicians
• Technical training to allow existing installation or maintenance teams to
correctly install, commission, verify and offer support.
• Alternatively, Sycous are able to provide a commissioning and verification
service.
• Online and telephone technical support, with SLA’s and tracking for the
mySycous application
• Comprehensive on-site and remote training for the mySycous application
