4. Drainage is an integral part of natural eco-system.
Drainage system is an very important element of a
city ,impacts in our environment and daily life.
With the rapid growth of urbanization drainage
problem is one of the major problem in all over the
country .
In Pabna city the condition of drainage system is
not good.
Our study area is 10no ward. As it is a residential
area the drainage system is better than other area
in pabna.

with a network of channels, drains, and hydraulic
engineering and other structures that provide for
drainage.
Regulating, protective, and conducting are the
major elements of drainage system.
Drainage systems may be open or closed
(subsurface), depending on the drainage method.
The design of a drainage system depends on the
soil and on the hydrogeological, economic, and
other conditions of the terrain

12. Our study area is Ward number-10 of Pabna
Municipality.
Ward number 10 consists of the area named as
Radhanagar (Partial), Gongkola (Partial),
Narayanpur (Partial), Chok Joyenpur, Chok
Ramanondonpur (Partial) and Nurpur.

21. Still few area of this ward there is no drainage
system.
The drainage condition of the area is so poor.
The structural condition of those existing
drainage are very low quality .
Solid waste management is a big reasons
behind bad drainage system of the area.
There is no central drainage disposal center

waste free surroundings.

consequence of unplanned development
Due to rapid urbanization with unplanned
construction, most of the storm water drainage have
been encroached
Sustainable drainage system can form a key part of
sustainable development by reducing the impacts
A close coordination among urban authorities and
agencies and collaboration between public and
private sectors is needed for effective management
and sustainable development/restoration and
operation of the natural drainage system to improve
water logging situation.
