10. Higher plant availability and throughput
Better predictability of manufacturing
Reduced lead times
Higher flexibility and agility/remote operations
Less quality issues
Less consumption of energy and raw materials
Less costs for lab analyses
More efficient plant maintenance
More efficient allocation of staff
Digitalization enables the entire
manufacturing chain for more efficient
operations
11. THE TRANSFORMATION OF BULGARIAN
INDUSTRY TOWARDS COMPETITIVENESS AND
GROWTH
The Bulgarian industry implemented reconstructing projects incl. modernization and best available
equipment and technology.
INVESTMENTS: more than 7 billion EUR
OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED:
Technological development, automation/digitalization of processes and management
High quality production, new products and goods
Effective use of resources, growing use of wastes
Reduced energy consumption per unit production – below 30%
High standards for protection of nature and working environment
Appropriate working environment, professional trainings and responsibility towards working staff
12. Digital is a clear growth opportunity - industrial value chains might
change completely through digitalisation, products and related
process will get more personalized creating and delivering higher
value for customers
Digital will further improve operations, e.g. cognitive plants,
advanced maintenance, digital process and plant design through
in-silico “digital twins”
Collaboration is becoming a key success factor
New type of education and job profiles will be required to
transform the industry
Industry is a solution provider also for the digital economy:
Innovation brings added value
