Password Manager: Password Self-Service Reset and Helpdesk Management
Introducing Password ManagerReduce helpdesk costs while increasing security with self-service According to the Gartner Group, 20% to 50% of all help desk calls are for password resets The Challenge Password resets are the largest single source of help desk requests. As organizations implement stronger password policies, end-users are forced to remember a greater number of complex and frequently changing passwords. A user forgets his or her password The user tries various combinations of old passwords and is locked out Eventually the user gives up and calls the helpdesk If possible, the helpdesk responds immediately but usually there is a backlog of requests to the helpdesk issues a “ticket” Common ratio for large companies – 1 helpdesk admin/6000 users! In the meantime, the user cannot access resources they need to perform their job – e.g. email, file shares, printers, etc...
