The Ebola outbreak in West Africa has claimed almost 4000 lives. In response the UK government has announced travel screening at Gatwick, Heathrow and St Pancras. Passengers travelling from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea will be checked for signs of fever and asked questions about their travel history. This method of travel screening could be ineffective if we consider the majority of passengers from West Africa travel on flights via Brussels or Paris and may bypass the screening process.
