3. ALANINE TRANSAMINASE Is a transminase enzyme. It is also called serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) or alanine aminotransferase (ALAT) ALT is found in serum and in various bodily tissues, but is most commonly associated with the liver. It catalyzes the two part of the alanine cycle. It catalyzes the transfer of an amino group from alanine to a-ketoglutarate, the products of this reversible transamination reaction being pyruvate and glutamate.

4. ASPARTATE AMINOTRANSFERASE Its a test that measures the amount of this enzyme in the blood. AST is normally found in red blood cells, liver, heart, muscle tissue, pancreas and kidneys. It facilitates the conversion of aspartate and alpha-ketoglutarate to oxaloacetate and glutamate, and vice versa.

5. FECAL OCCULT BLLOD Refers to blood in the feces that is not visibly apparent. It checks for hidden (occult) blood in the stool (feces). Fecal occult blood testing (FOBT) as its name implies, aims to detect subtle blood loss in the gastrointestinal tract anywher from the mouth to the colon. Positive tests (positive stool) may result from either upper gastrointestinal bleeding or lower gastrointestinal bleeding and warrant further investigation for peptic ulcers or a malignancy such as clorectal cancer or gastric cancer.

6. OVA AND PARASITIES Is an exam is a laboratory test to determine if a stool sample contains parasites or eggs (ova) that are associated with intestinal infections. Your doctor may order this test if you have signs of a parasitic infestation,prolonged diarrhea of unknown cause or other intestinal symptoms. An abnormal result means parasities or eggs are present in the stool. This is a sign of a parasitic infestion. Such infections include: Amebiasis Giardiosis Strongyloidiasis Taeniasis
