City
Hang
em’
Why?
On
Tuesday
of
last
week
in
my
hometown
of
Jersey
City
New
Jersey
where
I
was
born
and
raised
as
a
child
a
heinous
crime
was
committed.
A
black
man
was
found
early
in
the
morning
dangling
from
a
tree
pronounce
dead
on
the
scene
the
prosecutors
office
immediately
declared
it
didn’t
seem
as
if
foul
play
was
involved.
The
man
was
61
years
old
name
Jeffrey
Kililibwa
and
the
Kenyan
community
is
at
arms
for
what
has
happen
to
a
countryman.
“His
hands
were
bound
with
a
rope.
That’s
not
how
people
hang
themselves.
We
must
know
the
truth,”

In
a
city
where
African
American
people
are
dying
at
an
incredibly
alarming
rate
every
three
of
four
days
through
acts
of
violence
without
a
reprieve
in
immediate
sight.
A
city
in
which
I
see
countless
conversations
on
social
media
from
friends
and
family
who
have
lost
sons
daughters
brothers
sisters
and
even
husbands
or
wives
and
still
have
not
an
answer
as
to
why?
In
a
city
where
there
quite
honestly
are
people
within
city
government
who
frown
whenever
a
legitimate
question
is
proposed
regarding
the
safety
of
African
Americans
in
Jersey
City?

It
became
so
obvious
it
was
difficult
to
remain
in
a
city
where
so
many
have
sold
there
souls
just
for
what
will
be
very
short
live
favor.
In
a
city
where
some
people
even
of
African
American
decent
have
been
brainwashed
into
believing
that
those
who
aren’t
or
especially
those
who
probably
have
never
been
in
favor
of
the
eventual
winner
of
the
recent
Mayoral
race
are
being
punished.
In
a
city
for
months
where
there
were
individuals
who
for
months
even
though
they
probably
knew
what
the
results
of
the
Mayoral
election
would
be
had
no
intention
on
voting
because
they
could
foresee
exactly
what’s
happening
now?
This
subjects
very
sensitive
in
particularly
for
those
who
maybe
guilty
Jersey
City
as
mention
my
hometown
has
been
re-­‐classified
and
unofficially
zoned
and
for
years
the
borders
which
surround
the
African
American
community
are
well
known.
There
are
people
considered
undesirable
and
it
is
the
hope
of
those
who
have
a
new
vision
that
in
time
undesirable
people
will
eliminate
themselves.
And
with
the
lack
of
public
safety
as
well
in
these
communities
and
the
new
tactical
approach
to
law
enforcement
the
city
will
adapt
in
order
to
alleviate
a
particular
element
the
vision
becomes
very
attainable.
It’s
becoming
terribly
confusing
how
I
can
read
articles
about
people
running
and
especially
city
inaugurations
that
appear
almost
Camelot
like
almost
giving
me
a
blow
by
blow
play
by
play
account
for
the
entire
day.
Security
up
the
wazoo
sharpshooters
national
guards
dignitaries
and
anyone
else
willing
to
smile
for
a
camera
or
dress
like
there
part
of
a
side
show
for
some
attention
more
than
3000
miles
away.
Yet
how
come
we
can’t
get
something
as
simple
as
the
truth
in
particularly
with
an
issue
that’s
as
sensitive
as
this
and
not
only
because
the
individual
is
black
but
because
he
was
a
living
breathing
person
with
possibly
a
family
and
others
he
cared
about
and
vice
versa?
One
might
wonder
why
would
other
than
my
unconditional
love
for
the
city
I
was
born
and
raised
in
I
have
4
grandchildren
that
live
within
a
2
block
radius
of
the
location
which
is
a
pubic
park
where
they
play
occasionally.
And
these
children
who
at
times
have
to
travel
to
the
neighboring
school
to
be
picked
up
by
a
bus
to
bring
them
to
their
daily
destination
could
have
possibly
even
discovered
the
hanging
man
from
a
tree
in
the
early
morning
as
well?
Why
should
we
today
in
2013
in
a
country
where
in
December
1865
the
United
States
abolished
slavery
with
the
Thirteenth
Amendment
to
the
United
States
Constitution;
and
about
40,000
remaining
slaves
are
affected
we
still
have
to
ask
the
question
why?

In
a
city
where
even
today
as
mention
frowns
are
created
when
this
will
be
read
for
a
reason?
And
that’s
because
no
matter
who
you
are
it’s
become
very
blatantly
clear
if
you’re
of
African
American
decent
you
better
be
very
aware
of
where
you
walk
in
my
city
and
at
times
especially
how
you
talk?
In
a
city
where
the
last
question
you’re
expected
to
ask
especially
after
a
hanging
is
why?
