To: Whomever it may concern
I am applying for a production job in your company. At your convenience, I'd welcome
the opportunity to discuss the position and my candidacy with you.
I am looking to bring my passion and drive to produce great cinematography to your
company. Producing films have been my dream ever since I got my hands on my first video
camera back in High School, all I wanted to do was make films. Not just any films, not some
non-scripted, unorganized mess of a film, but rather something clever, structured, and perfectly
organized. Through filmmaking I have not only found that my proficiency as a writer, director,
and videographer to be exceptional. But that my dexterity as a producer to be unsurpassed; my
work ethic unmatched, and my drive to achieve greatness unparalleled. I salivate at the though of
getting the chance to work with a crew that can produce a product of a superior quality. That is
why I’m applying to your company.
Organized- I have been running my own company as my primary source of income for four
years now. It is necessary for me to be extremely organized, neat, and coordinated. I have found
that structure is the key to a smooth production, if everything is kept in proper order from the
beginning, then it will be shown in the end.
Money Conscious- I have personally funded and received donations for two feature films of
$6,000 a piece and managed the finances on a $15,000 film that had a short theatrical release.
Computer skills- I’m very proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Premiere. I Just started
getting into the Adobe Speed Grade and Light Room and will expect to be fluid in all of the
programs in a month if not sooner.
Ability to learn- I posses an unmatched work ethic and the competitive nature to thrive in this
industry. I have never in my life had anything that I did not excel at.
I welcome to opportunity to further discuss this position with you. If you have any
questions or would like to schedule an interview please contact me by phone at (631) 804-1443,
or by email at SchweitzerHabitude@gmail.com
Thanks for your consideration; I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Timothy John Schweitzer
