Forests and trees are very important because they are the natural habitat of many
animals, plants, insects and fungus.
Squirrels are mammals and they live in nests on the trees. Their favourite food are
nuts.
Woodpeckers also live in the forest. They are birds. They peck tree trunks and make
holes. The babies live in the holes. Woodpeckers eat insects that live on the trees.
It is important to respect the forests to protect these animals.
