Email marketing allows you to stay connected with people
who want to hear from you. And while emphasis is often put
on sales, email marketing is also about education, brand
recognition, and most importantly — relationship building.
● Smart metrics allow non-profit organizations to track an exact return
on investment from email marketing.
● Non-profit organizations can reach substantial numbers of email
subscribers / donors / sponsors who have opted in to receive emails.
● Over half of all Internet users check or send email on a typical day.
● Email allows non-profits to reach out to donors with
personalized, relevant, and dynamic messages.
Four billion people use email every day.*

Why Email Marketing?
Every contact matters!
If you have any email contacts, why are
those email addresses so valuable?
● They’ve met you
● They know you
● They are already likely to support you
(and promote your organization)
● It’s the first “yes” of your relationship
7. 7
Why Email Marketing
Email marketing has the highest
ROI of all forms of marketing,
averaging about $38 in return
for every $1 spent.
8. 8
Why Email Marketing
Email is almost 40 times more
effective than Facebook and
Twitter combined, in helping
your non-profit organization
acquire new supporters and
sponsors.
9. 9
Why Email Marketing
Get more people to connect
and support your fundraising
efforts. When done right, email
marketing lets non-profit
organizations reach the right
person, with the right message
and ask, at the right time.

spam folder:

● Keep it short — no more than 4-7 words
● Make it descriptive — tease what’s inside the email
● Steer clear of writing in ALL CAPS
● Avoid excessive use of punctuation or symbols
17
18. 18
● Use emoji 🤝
● Use subject and preheader
● Subject ideas
