The importance of education system in the society, its influence on the culture and its influence on the social development, the importance of the culture for the everyone development.
2. The present work aims to show the role of education system in the society. This study will be
carried on the analysis of the main functions and roles of education system in the society, its
influence on the culture and its influence on the social development.
The main purpose is to educate individuals within society, to prepare and qualify them for
work in economy as well as to integrate people into society. Role of education system in the
society is means of socializing individuals and to keep society smoothing and remain stable.
School is a group and education is an institution. Of course, school is an important part of
society. Here we are referring to a specific society, not the general concept of society, which is
an abstract performance. And a particular society includes a group of people who live within
the borders of a country defined and labeled by a particular culture.
INTRODUCTION
3.
4. Each school has a particular culture. This can be noticed in the comparison in the private and public schools, the rural
and urban schools ,the boys and the girls schools, etc. Culture is constituted of the norms, customs, tradition, rules of
behaviours, attitudes etc. All these are reflected in the social life of the school. It is important to be aware of the
influence culture has on all learning environments and to try to adapt that culture in a way that supports the type of
environment that we believe will be the most effective.
• The purpose of school on the culture is to offer to the society by cognizant process of learning process of learning
and experience.
• Cultural pattern of society determines its educational system. Education system simultaneously affects the culture
of that society by shaping and influencing the thinking and behaviour of an individual.
• Culture is stated to be the complete package of knowledge, beliefs, traditions, customs, art, morals, law and any
other skills acquired by humans as a member of that society.
• The purpose is to inform the individual about the nature of culture and how to follow those cultural patterns;
norms, values, ways of communication, rules, standards, policies and behavioral conduct.
In brief, education and culture are mutually interwoven, complementary and supplementary in all their
aspects. It is education which reifies the culture. A good education will teach to understand the different
cultures and customs that exist, which have as main objective to abolish issues, social problems and anti-
values. (bullying, discrimination, racism, etc.)
5. A school was identified as a social system. There are group of people who interact with each other in
order to achieve the same goal and interacting with the outside community. (Gutenberg, 1995)
Higher levels of education are associated with a wide range of positive outcomes - including better
health and wellbeing, higher social trust, greater political interest, lower political cynicism, and less
hostile attitudes towards immigrants.
Society is influenced by the school in as great a measure as it itself influences schools. That is why
we must take these aspects into account:
• Schools produce the feature leaders for all the spheres of society.
• The school like the family, institution which socialize the individual and provides him some
experience in social control.
• The schools plays an important part in social change because it subjects all the customs, traditions,
religious, etc.
• By exercising their right to criticism, educators remove the weakness of society and thus prepare a
plan for its first reform and future improvement.
School provides a structured education and promotes a
child's mental and psychological increase. Aside from
learning academics, a child will also learn other
important life skills such as teamwork, good manners,
unity, sharing, and responsibility.
Education brings social change both to the individual
and the community large. Teachers are the agents of
change, education the stimulus and the students are
the recipients and preservers of change. At the
individual level, education eradicates ignorance.
6. The educational system influences culture too much and, in turn, social development, since
when the meaning of culture and its diversities are understood, one will have an own identity
without the need to disguise oneself, if not, on the contrary, feel proud of have something that
identifies them throughout life. Therefore, I can say that once our identity is expressed and
accepted, it will be much easier for each of us to progress in a society without prejudice, bad
habits and anti-values.
The identity of which has been formed from an early age will bring a person in to a better
direction in her or his life.
To conclude, the social responsibility of Educational institutions do not admit delays in their task
of developing a critical conscience, to adapt to an individual creative, full, useful and committed,
with self-awareness and of their environment, capable of co-building and transforming society.
