The human brain is divided into three main parts: the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brain stem. The cerebrum is the largest part and is responsible for higher functions like thinking and problem solving. The cerebellum controls movement coordination and balance. The brain stem connects the brain to the spinal cord and controls vital functions. Within these parts are various lobes and structures that each have specific roles in functions like memory, sensory processing, movement, vision, and more. Maintaining a healthy brain requires protecting your head from injury, exercising, quitting smoking, and paying attention to your mental wellbeing.
2. DIVISION OF THE BRAIN.
• The human brain is divided into 3 parts namely;
• The cerebrum, fills up most of your skull. It is involved in remembering, problem
solving, thinking, and feeling. ...
• The cerebellum sits at the back of your head, under the cerebrum. It controls
coordination and balance.
• The brain stem sits beneath your cerebrum in front of your cerebellum.
3. CEREBRUM
• This this is the biggest part of the human brain, it is then separated into two pars that are
scientifically referred as Hemispheres. These two hemispheres are further separated by a groove
that is referred to as interhemispheric fissure.
• Frontol lobes. They are the biggest lobes, located on the front part of the brain. They are
responsible for high level of behaviour, such as critical thinking, planning and problem solving.
• Pariental lobe. Located behind the frontal lobe responsible for organizing and interpretation of
sensory impulse.
• Temporal lobe. Located on the same level of the ears. They are responsible for memory storage such
as facial recognition and interpretation of emotions.
Occipital lobe. Found on the back of the brain, highly responsible for ability to read and recall.
4. CEREBELLUM
• It is located on the back of the brain, just below the occipital lobes. It coordinate fine
motor skills, which refers to the control of smaller movement of the hands and feet.
It is also responsible for maintain balance and posture.
• Diencephalon. This is the base part of the brain that consist of the
1.Thalamus
Epithalamus
Hyphothalamus
5. THE THALAMUS
• The thalamus is regarded as relay station for impulse coming into the brain.it also
plays a major role in consciousness, sleep and keeping memory.
• It also serves an a bridge that connects the limbic system and other parts of the
brain. The limbic system forms part of the brain that are responsible for emotion,
long-term memory and behaviour.
6. BRAIN STEM
• The brain stem form part of the spinal cord while connected on the cerebellum. It is
made up of 3 major components.
Midbrain. This component controls the eye movement while transporting visual and
auditory information.
Pons. This is the largest part of the brain stem , located just below the midbrain. It
is made up of variety of nerves that coordinate different part of the brain.
Medulla Oblongata. This is the lowest part of the brain. It is the controlling site of
the heart and lungs . It regulates many significant functions such as breathing,
sneezing and swallowing.
7. BRAIN CONDITIONS.
• Brain injuries as concussions.
• Psychological conditions, such as depression and schizophrenia.
• Brain tumor, acoustic neuromas.
• Neurodegerative disorders such as demantai, Parkinson diseases or huntington
diseases.
8. SYMPTOMS OF BRAIN CONDITION.
• The brain is one of the most vital parts of the human body system, so it is therefore
important for us to take caution of any sign that may be signalling problem.
Headache
Seizures
Dilation of one or both pupil.
Nausea or vomiting
Dizziness
Speech problem
9. CEREBROVASCULAR INJURIES SYMPTOMS.
• Coma.
• Severe headache.
• Dropping face.
• Loss of vision.
• Inability t speak.
• Inability to move or feel part of your body.
