20. ANTHONY DODERO, CO-FOUNDER
Graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design 2004 with a B.F.A., Anthony is now a freelance Motion
Designer in New York City working in advertising and has experience with various television networks and na-
tional advertising campaigns. Born in Santa Barbara, California, he has been involved from an early age in
relief efforts around the globe from aiding building efforts of low income houses in northern Mexico to restora-
tion of Hurricane Mitch destroyed communities in Honduras. Recently his focus has been on the Southeast
Asia region aiding in India following the tsunami of 2004 and more recently Thailand & Cambodia focusing in
on economic solutions for areas torn with human rights abuses.
CHAD RILEY, CO-FOUNDER
Chad was raised in the mountains of California. He studied at Brooks Institute of Photography in
Santa Barbara and afterwards, moved to New York City to become a freelance Photographer
shooting for a diverse client list from advertising, fashion and action sports industries. Also as a
Photo Assistant to Annie Leibovitz, he travelled all over the world with Vogue and Vanity Fair
Magazine on photo assignments with Bono, Giselle, Muhammad Ali, and even Queen Elizabeth
(to name a few). Chad also recently photographed Annie Leibovitz, herself, for the cover of her
new book “At Work”.
LIEM NGUYEN, CO-FOUNDER
Liem is currently an Associate Creative Director at a global advertising agency. He creates
advertising campaigns using television, print, online, outdoor and non-traditional media.
Liem's work experience stems from popular brands such as BMW, Coca Cola, Oral-B, Jamba
Juice, Whirlpool and Verizon Wireless. He has also received many advertising and design
awards for his achievements. Liem received his Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design from
Baylor University in Texas and his Art Direction Certificate from The Chicago Portfolio School in
Illinois.
21. PHIL ANEMA, COMMUNITY OUTREACH
After completing degrees in History and Religion from Calvin College, Philip Anema moved to New York City in
2006 to serve as an intern for the New York Fellowship - a non-profit serving local business people and partner-
ing with sister organizations to help disenfranchised members of the community. In 2007 he took a field-staff
position at FOCUS, a youth outreach and mentorship organization reaching students of independent schools
across the Eastern Seaboard. Since the, he's been working as a freelance photographer and production assis-
tant for various projects in the advertising, business, music, and marketing industries.
DAVID BUTGEREIT, FAITH BASED LIASION
David was born and raised in the Midwest. After a failed attempt at rock stardom, he
obtained a nursing degree from Cedarville University and followed that with a Master's
degree from The University of Cincinnati. David has a project management back-
ground and worked as Director of Advancement for the U.S. office of The Garden of
Hope Thailand. David, his wife Joanna, and children currently live in Ohio.
SHEILA HARPER, FASHION DESIGN
Sheila grew up in England and graduated from Winchester School of Art in 2004 with
a Bachelors in Textile Design. Born in the Philippines and having lived in India and
Pakistan as a child she has seen firsthand some of the economic reasons that hold
so many people from a life with dignity and hope. Sheila has also spent a year
doing humanitarian work in eight East Asian countries. She currently lives in New
York City and is excited to contribute her creative skills in textile and jewelry design.
22. ANNIE KIM, FASHION DESIGN
Annie Kim is a graduate of Parsons School of Design with a BFA degree in Fashion Design and is currently
working as a designer in New York City. With high interest in product innovation, she has been working with
DDCLAB, a company that pushes innovative fabrication in fashion for men's and women's contemporary
clothing line while simultaniously consulting with footwear brands, New Balance and PF Flyers.
With volunteer mission trips to Japan and Thailand, Annie has experienced the love of helping others. She
excited to share the skills obtained through life's experiences and fashion design indusrty to motivate sur-
vivors who were once abandoned, abused, and emotionally scarred.
KEVIN KIM, MARKETING
Kevin is a VP Senior Strategic Planner at a global advertising agency. He helped develop a
,
proprietary branding model based on consumer motivations and institutionalized a suite of
innovative insight tools. Kevin also led efforts to establish sister offices in Melbourne, Tokyo and
Seoul. Among the brands Kevin has helped become part of our cultural conversation include
Applebee’s, ABSOLUT, GlaxoSmithKline, Intercontinental Hotels Group, MasterCard, Levi's,
L’Oreal, Nestle Waters, Verizon Wireless and Xbox. Kevin studied at New York University Stern
School of Business and the London School of Economics.
CHRISTIE Y LEE, COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Christie is a NYC based Makeup Artist and Hairstylist working in fashion, film, and
television. She has been published in numerous magazines such as Cosmopolitan,
Marie Claire, Travel Adventures, H Magazine, Venice and done work for MTV, Fuse,
IFC, WE, Glamour’s the List and much more. Along with acquiring a dual degree in
History and Southeast Asian Studies at UCLA, Christie has a background in social
justice and human rights advocacy.
23. JESSICA MINHAS, CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
Jessica’s media activism on international humanitarian issues has taken her to numerous countries includ-
ing Nepal, India, Thailand and Cambodia. In addition to documenting world humanitarian issues, Jessica
has also served as a Media Consultant to various institutions including MTV, PBS, Tiny Stars, The Foundation
For Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, Chat the Planet and Events of the Heart. Jessica obtained
her B.A. from the University of Central Florida (Interpersonal Communication) and is continuing her media
studies at New York University.
DOWNY NGUYEN, SPECIAL PROJECTS
Downy was born in Chicago, shortly after her parents immigrated from Thailand. She
spent most of her life in Texas. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree at University of
Texas at Austin and completed optometry school at University of Houston. Downy
often provides vision care to inner city school kids and homebound disabled pa-
tients. She hopes to use her skills as an Optometrist to provide medical assistance
for victims rescued out of sex trafficking.
SEAN PFITZENMAIER, FINANCE & OPERATIONS
Sean is a venture capital backed entrepreneur, having raised $3.5M in start-up financing for two internet
companies where he's served as the co-founder, COO, and CMO. Prior to his foray into entrepreneurship
Sean worked as an engineer in the aerospace industry. Passionate about for-profit solutions for social
change, Sean started and lead the Social Enterprise Association at NYU, and also lived in West Africa where
he taught and consulted Nigerian entrepreneurs. His current pursuits revolve around building the necessary
infrastructure into the profit seeking social enterprise space. Sean holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of
Business and a BS in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech.
24. JESSICA STURMAN, FASHION DESIGN
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Jessica Sturman grew up with a borderline unhealthy
obsession with New York City (fueled by many hours of Seasame Street as a young child)
and the fashion industry. After graduating in 2003 from Missouri State University, she moved
to the big city and has been presiding in Brooklyn for most of the time. She is currently
head designer for clothing labels Madison Marcus, Jamison and Twg.
RYAN TERRY, INTERACTIVE DESIGN
Ryan is an award winning freelance Illustrator & Web Designer based in Brooklyn, NY who
studied Computer Art at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has worked in the
interactive industry for over 7 years as well as a children's education publishing company.
Ryan leads in designing and building The Blind Project interactive marketing programs.
JESSICA TRAN, SPECIAL PROJECTS
Jessica was born and raised in Houston, Texas after her parents immigrated from Vietnam. Motivated by
her love for photography, painting, and the visual arts, she pursued a profession that helps preserve and
restore sight- optometry. In 2007, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at Illinois College of Optom-
etry in Chicago. She is a part of VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) where she has pro-
vided eye care to underserved areas in Central America. Merging her desire to provide eye health care to
the less priviledged and her commitment to fight the evils of sex slavery -- Jessica hopes to incorporate
vision care to those affected by human trafficking.
25. KYLE WESTAWAY, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Kyle is the founding Partner of Westaway Law - a boutique Manhattan law firm that works with
clientele who have an innovative dream to create something that will shape our culture. His
practice areas include entertainment, start-ups and nonprofits. Kyle’s commitment to global jus-
tice drove him to focus his studies on economic development in Sub-Saharan Africa while earn-
ing his M.A. in Public Policy and J.D. at Regent and Oxford Universities. He has spent time in
Africa studying entrepreneurial solutions to extreme poverty.
SHINAE YOON, FASHION DESIGN
Shinae Yoon was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and
graduated with a Fashion Design Major and a minor in Graphic Design. Currently, she resides in New York
City working as the lead women's contemporary fashion designer at SHAE.
Shinae developed a deep-rooted passion for women's rights at an early age. When she was later con-
fronted by many of the stories of sex-trafficked victims, her passion for women's rights exploded into a
need to help. She strongly believes in leveraging her Fashion background to make a difference. Shinae
is currently leading the fashion side of The Blind Project to make this dream a reality.
