2. Scenario 2 : The Food Processor
Responsible Partner: TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS
3. Intro of the scenario
Description
To deliver a solution to a Processor packaging Olives (certified under GLOBALGAP) by maintaining also a Food Safety Management
System (FSMS) against the FSSC22000 (GFSI) Standard requirements, in order to quickly and efficiently meet the demands of a new
client (retailer) for delivering the same product (in the same type of packaging) under the retailer’s food policy for trading food staff
which is certified against the requirements of the IFS Food Standard (GFSI).
Main Actors involved
1. Producer 2. Processor 3. Certification Body 4. Retailer
4. Intro of the scenario
In the framework of the European Project "TheFSM" (Horizon 2020), TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas undertook the task to
investigate in a hypothetical Certification Business Scenario that involves a Food Processing company, its
providers and the rest of the stakeholders in its supply chain, how they would benefit mostly when channeled
through “TheFSM” platform in their daily operation. The current situation relevant to the needs and capabilities of
the food industry, including the primary agricultural sector, to record, manage and retain in an efficient way,
digitized information critical to support their clients needs with reference to data strongly related to their certified
Food Safety Management System against GFSI standards such as FSSC22000 and IFS, were identified and
captured.
It is expected that the Platform, will allow for a quick and reliable sharing (downstream and upstream) of critical for
the stakeholders in the supply chain food safety info, that could also contribute the achievement of awarding food
safety certifications. The extracted results from this scenario, will feed the "TheFSM" architecturing process, to
provide a useful tool for the food industry.
