2. 1- Do you watch horror films? When people were asked if they watch horror films, 6 out of the ten people I asked said yes. None of the people I asked said that they never watch horror films. The other four people said that they sometimes watch horror films.
3. 2- How do often do you watch horror films? When I asked people how often they watched horror films the majority said that they watched horror films once a month. Nobody watched them once a week. The other for people said that they watched them either once a fortnight or once a year.
4. 3- What is your favourite horror movie? One of the questions in my questionnaire was what is your favourite horror movie. There were five options to choose from and the majority of the people who took part in my questionnaire said that Saw was their favourite horror movie. The hills have eyes was chosen by two people and the same result was gathered for Resident Evil and The Final Destination. Nobody who took part in my questionnaire chose the other option and gave the name of another horror film.
5. 4- What do you like about this film. After people were asked what their favourite horror films, I asked the people who took part in the questionnaire why they liked the film that they chose. This explains why the numbers add up to over ten, because people wrote their answers and wrote more than one thing to answer the questionnaire. The majority of the people who took part in my questionnaire said that they liked the horror and gore aspect of the film they chose. The second most written answer was the suspense of the horror movie and the ability to make the audience jump. The action and the narrative was only written twice for each answer, which suggests that people do not mind what the narrative is along as there is enough horror and gore. Only one person wrote how they liked the link between the game and the film Resident Evil. Overall the answers received suggest that the majority of people watch horror films for the blood and guts.
6. 5- What is it about a teaser trailer that makes you want to watch the film being advertised? I asked the people who took my part in my questionnaire what was it about a teaser trailer that made them want to the film being advertised. The action shown in a teaser trailer was the most popular answer suggesting that in my teaser trailer I need to use a lot of action shots. The lack of detail given in some teaser trailers was another answer people wrote down a lot which suggests that there should not be a lot of detail shown in my trailer, just quick shots which will not show a lot of detail. The curiosity aroused by a teaser trailer was written the same amount as well as the lack of detail. Other answers people wrote were the suspense created and the cliffhanger making them want to find out what happens in the film.
7. 6- What do you expect from a good horror film? When asked what they expect from a good horror film, the majority of people said that they wanted the film to be scary and have the ability to make people jump. Surprisingly the second most written thing was narrative when earlier in the questionnaire that they didn’t care about the narrative of the film they chose. The amount of gore and the suspense created in the film were the two answers that were written the least.
8. 7- Would you be interested in watching a film about a school infected by a virus turning all the students and teachers into zombies? The final question asked the people taking part in the questionnaire if they would be interested in watching a film about a school being infected by a virus turning all the students and teachers into zombies. The majority of the people asked said they would be interested in watching a film with this particular narrative. Nobody who I asked said they didn’t want to watch a film with this idea. Two people who took part in the questionnaire said that they would maybe be interested in this particular idea but then zombie films may not be their thing.
