About India Rows
As a little girl growing up in the American South, India Rows
naturally came to love the feminine, elegant and timeless style of
pearls. She remembers playing dress up with her mother’s opera
length pearls as a child and receiving her very first strand of pearls
when she was 13 years old from her father. Years later in 2006, India
and her husband decided to embrace their mutual love of travel and
adventure with a journey to India, China and Vietnam. During these
travels India simply fell in love with the stunning pearls indigenous to
the region. In addition to buying multiple strands for herself, India
decided to send some home to friends and family. The women in
India’s life quickly became hooked on these outstanding gems! Upon
returning to the U.S., India went back to work but continued to
import pearls on the side. Soon she realized that she had discovered
her passion. That same year India and her mom, Mary Dozier,
traveled back to the Orient and began finding sources for gorgeous
pearls. India had learned from her mom to create jewelry with
meaning and she carries that philosophy into her business today.
In 2008, India attended the Gemological Institute of America (GIA)
in California and received instruction on the art of grading pearls,
and, this year she received her Graduate Pearls Diploma from the
GIA. She uses this expert training to identify exceptional quality
pearls on her frequent trips to the Orient. India enjoys the process of

3. finding well-priced, magnificent pearls and incorporating these
lustrous gems into gorgeous necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The
Pearl Girls was officially launched in 2008 via home shows, trade
shows and retailers in the southeastern U.S. In 2011, India launched
the online retail shop at www.thepearlgirls.com and began selling
wholesale.
Earlier this year, India and her mother traveled to the Zhejiang
province in China, the source of a majority of the world’s freshwater
pearls, to tour pearl farms and show customers the process of

Fundraising for worthy causes has always been important to India,
who is a mother to a toddler and is expecting her second child in the
fall. The Pearl Girls has held successful fundraisers for various
schools, SafeHomes and The American Cancer Society, to name a few.
This October, 25% of the total sales of the classic pink necklace and
earrings will be contributed to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
