1. LICKS IN THEIR PAM-PALAM
Tony Astaphan is the top lawyer in the OECS and is a man to be feared – he is aggressive, tough and
knowledgeable. If you take him on and you are not sure of your facts, he will grind you into the dirt.
Astaphan was not content with making mincemeat of PAM’s lawyers in the Court but took them on
outside the Court in a live News Conference he held on Thursday, October 29, 2009. If you saw big
men hiding their face before Halloween, it is the PAM leaders and lawyers. Tony unmasked them and
their intentions to cause disruption and havoc in this country before the Elections and try to incite fear
in the hearts of the citizenry so they would run to PAM.
They thought they set a trap for the Government with all the injunctions but Astaphan made them fall
into their own trap.
He tackled the three main issues that Chicken Little and his finger licking gang have been pushing and
discredited them entirely.
These issues are:
1. The effect of the order of Mr. Justice Thomas
2. The old talk that the Government’s mandate has expired
3. The lie that the Government “capitulated” and “conceded” the Boundaries matter.
Dealing with the Green Card gang first, Tony the Tiger said that the Government recognized that the
way the Amendment was worded could lead to further injunctions and challenges. If that happens they
would again slow down the Electoral process and play into the hands of those miscreants who want to
have their cake and eat it. These are the same unscrupulous people who are delaying the elections and
they want to retain their US citizenship so that when they lose the elections they have a place to escape
to and still want to contest the elections. It is a case of flip-flop, flip-flop – should they give up or
should they stop. The rewording of the amendment takes all the pressure off the Returning Officer and
puts it where it belongs- in the hands of the Court. What Tony stressed was that if a candidate lies
about his citizenship, it will become a criminal offence. That means the Chicken Little gang will have
to come clean or pay the penalty for their lies.

2. Astaphan then dealt with the matter of the ruling. PAM has been going around telling people and
boasting that the Judge ruled that the Elections would be fought on the basis of the old
boundaries. That was not the Judge’s ruling at all. The Judge’s issue was with the Boundaries
Technical Committee and not with the Constituency Boundaries Commission (CBC). What the judge
found was that there was a technical or administrative issue and despite all the accusations of
corruption against the CBC and its Chairman, they can now proceed to regularize the situation. While
the Chicken Little gang is crowing and beating up their wings, the CBC is proceeding quietly with their
Constitutionally-appointed task. Like our teachers taught us in school, “Empty vessels make the most
noise.”
Tony then tackled the lie that the Government’s time in office has ended. He made it clear that the
Government has five years from the convening of Parliament which, in this term, happened in
December 2004. Even after the Constitutional period has ended, there is still three months in which to
hold the Election. In fact, during that three months the Prime Minister can still get the Governor
General to reconvene Parliament on matters of urgent national importance. This what Prime Minister
Baldwin Spencer did in Antigua when the Stanford pyramid collapsed and the Government had to
acquire the Stanford assets.
PAM believes in what Hitler’s man-of-business, the infamous Joseph Goebbels practiced and preached,
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” This was
the principle that got Hitler into power in Germany and helped to make the Nazi State the most
repressive in the history of the world. So, given the vicious lies, are we seeing an attempt to set up a
Nazi State in our beloved Federation? Will we soon have to say Heil Herr Chicken Little? Are we
going to be flattened by Government boots and policed by Storm Troopers? What about our children,
are they going to be put in special camps and be part of an institution like the infamous Hitler Youths?
Remember my friends that this is what Hitler and his fellow murderers did. They told lies big enough
and keep repeating them often enough and eventually the outcome was that people came to believe
them and put them in power. They caused Germany to be destroyed. Don’t let that happen here.
When they come round to you with their big lies, take out your big sticks and give them some big licks
right in their PAM-palam.
