The document discusses the effectiveness of combining multiple advertising tasks. It notes that first person point of view shots of hands are used consistently across all tasks to clearly link them together. Specific filming styles and settings are also used to instantly connect the sponsorship advert to the main advert. Repeating closing scenes make the ads easily identifiable when fast forwarding. Background music is consistent in the main tasks but differs in the sponsorship task, still clearly connecting it while preventing boredom from continuity.
1. How effective is the
combination of your main
task and ancillary task?
2. I have linked my tasks together using all
different kinds of features, I believe that
these links make the combination very
effective and make it evident that the
adverts are all advertising the same
product. I therefore think that the link
between all of my tasks fit well together.
The hands being in first person view in
all the shots is the main feature which
links together all my tasks effectively.
This is very distinctive just like my style
model, The Listerine advert, which is
very known as the whole advert is filmed
directly facing the mouth.
3. For the scenes which include the hands walking and being human like, I have used the
same style setting which I have built which connects the main advert to the sponsorship
sequence instantly. This works well as the sponsorship advert isn't as long as the other two
adverts and therefore need to have a instant symbol which makes it recognisable to the
audience.
4. I think the combination of using
the same closing scene to all the
adverts is an effective technique
as now that recording and fast
forwarding through adverts is
very popular, it's a useful
technique to have a repeating
image which is easily identified
regardless of the situation.
5. The back ground music is consistent
throughout my main tasks as these are
the adverts that can be aired during the
day on various channels, and although
the music for my sponsorship
sequence is different.
I think it is still obvious that the advert is
connected to my other tasks. The break from
the continuity stops my advert becoming
boring.
