Snapchat's growth is boomin'. If you want to capture attention on the app, you have to learn how to create an entertaining Snapchat Story.
Snapchat Stats
- 150 million daily active users (more than Twitter)
- 1 billion+ Snaps are sent every day
- 41% of 18-34 year olds in the U.S. use Snapchat daily
- 10+ billion video views every day on Snapchat
A (major) to great Snapchat content is understanding story structure.
What is a Snapchat Story?
- Public photos or videos of up to 10 seconds in length.
- Snapchat Story content can be viewed for up to 24 hours after publishing before it expires and disappears.
Snapchat Story Structure
Each Snapchat Story should have a beginning, middle, and end.
Beginning
Where are you? What are you doing? Who are you?
Middle
This is the core of your Snapchat Story and the main reason why you are doing a Snapchat Story.
End
Every story must resolve. When your story has reached its conclusion, make sure you have a “sign off” Snap.
Story Modifiers
Sprinkle a few of these elements into your Snapchat Stories to make them more interesting.
• Jeopardy, conflict, and obstacles
• Humor
• Anticipation
• Surprise/reveal
• Participation
