2. MARKET WRAP
Sensex raised 0.99% @ 18,762.74 pts; Nifty raised 0.95% @ 5703.30 pts.
France’s CAC & DAX were down 0.53% & 0.16%, , Britain’s FTSE was up 0.07%.
Nasdaq was up 1.39% while Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.54%.
Sensex rose 183.24 pts @18,762.74 and while Nifty went up 53.80 pts & crossed 5700
psychological level. Sparked by optimism that economic reform and budget plans
unveiled by Spain will help manage its debt imbalances. Strong buying was seen in auto,
metal, power and FMCG stocks. L&T, ITC, ICICI Bank, HDFC were major contributors.
