images are not acceptable nor is strong sadistic or sexualised violence. There may be detailed verbal
references to sexual violence but any portrayal of sexual violence must be discreet.

Sex: Sexual activity can be shown with minor detail and strong sexual refferances are allowed.
3. Why are 18 rated films given this curtain rating
An 18 film is not very strict and the only things which are
considered too much for this rating are;
Pornographic images and scenes that cannot be justified by
context.
If the material is in breach of criminal law, or has been
created through a criminal offence.
When harm could be inflicted onto people because of the
film. Sexualised violence, drug use or violent acts that could
cause harm to public health or morals.
4. Our film and it’s certificate.
Our film will be a 15, as there will be alcohol & drug use, use of bad language hints of
violence but not actual physical scenes of violence.
This film will appeal to a teenage audience as it features teenagers having a party. It
will also appeal to an adult audience as one of the protagonists will be a middle aged
journalist, so that people can relate to him. This will appeal to horror fans also as
there is a lot of mystery throughout, like the outcome of the beginning scene and
weather the girl dies, and who exactly the murderer her. This will create an enigma.
5. This is Mark Lowther, he is 24 years old and enjoys watching horror films.
He often spends time with his friends and would be able to relate to the
teenaged protagonists of the film. He is also working and very mature, so
although he is not middle-aged, he could still relate to the journalist, the
middle-aged protagonist of the film. He enjoys horror films with an
enigma in them, and would like this film as there is a lot of mystery.
