An accountability partner is someone who helps you to remain f ocused and stay on track. By having
an accountability partner they ensure that they will help you to reach your business goals and keep you
moving f orward reaching them rather than wasting time and money going of f in dif f erent directions.
Why you should have an accountability partner Reason 1 -
- I’m more f ocused. I have put a lot more thought into my daily activities and the time I am spending on my
business because I am now more accountable to someone else. I f ocus 80% of my time on marketing
and 20% on
learning
now. I have now become more f ocused I have created a list of things I MUST get done on a daily basis
and I highlight them as I complete the task in hand. By doing this it really motivates me because I see what
I am doing and if it is not done half way through my time that gives me the kick up the backside to get it
completed bef ore time is up.
Having an accountability partner is great because they know what I have committed to do that week so
unless no one has died I MUST get it done! No more excuses! Now that might not suit everyone but it
2. suits me because I am really serious about my business and I am willing to put my head above the
parapet.

- I stay the course. I have been told time and time bef ore how people
get too distracted f rom their business and get involved in other areas.
Well this is where I give myself a pat on the back because I don’t jump
f rom one thing to the next. I have remained with this business and I will
see it thought to completion f or as long as I wish. Once the business is
where I want it to be I will them maybe look at venturing into new
territories

- I make more progress in the time I have. My accountability
partner and I have weekly meetings to check in and our progress. Since
we have begun these weekly meetings I look f orward to them as I am
f eeling good about the progress being made. We speak about the
weekly activities and check against the commitment made at the start and discuss any challenges. I can
honestly say that this has helped me greatly. I f eel that the momentum is building and I am on that train
cursing along and it is a good f eeling. Another great benef it is that we both want this and I remember the
late Jim Rohn saying that when two people come together and share common goal things will happen.

-
I concentrate more on results. I no longer work f or work’s
sake. I’ve come to realize that what counts are the results. I
have become more f lexible in my work hours on the business
and I am learning not to beat myself up. T he results come as I
am doing the activity required. I have my plan in place f or the
day ahead and I work that plan and once I have f inished the
list I am done.

-
I don’t really get stuck now. Being an entrepreneur or business owner, it’s quite easy to get stuck
doing things your own way, but because of my accountability partner I don’t stay stuck f or any length of
time as we can bounce ideas of f each other which helps me to keep moving f orward and assisting me to
reach my goals. My accountability partner and I have both had dif f icult times where we’ve f ound
ourselves wondering how we can move f orward but we are working together, we’re able to get through
them much f aster.

I’m happy now. Because we both remain
committed and both know that this
business is so important to us we remain in
total balance. We know the marketing
challenges that lie ahead however we
support each other and that too keeps us
both motivated and f ocused. If we’re struggling, say it is a health issue, that might be holding us back
we will talk about what it maybe and make a suggestion and then proceed with the business tasks.
T here are so many brilliant benef its of having an accountability partner. You create an amazing
3. relationship and as long as you respect your time given by them and you keep your side of the
deal
, it can be the greatest asset f or your business.

I really appreciate my accountability partner. I want to f inish
of f here by saying that if you are in business then my advice
is to get an accountability partner and a good one who is
serious about the success of their own business as well as
yours. It was quite a while bef ore I f ound my accountability
partner but when we spoke about it I was pleased they
agreed and we have gone on f rom there.
