The right story, well told, can engage even the most resistant audience, persuade others to
take action, and help you sell yourself, your ideas and products or services. Incorporating
stories into your speaking, training and business presentations will definitely set you apart and
help you STAND OUT from the crowd! Master storyteller Jean Gatz shows you how to take
ordinary stories from your work and life and turn into memorable stories to connect with every

9:20-9:30: Networking Break

9:30-10:20: STEPS to Engaging, Valuing and Leveraging Differences

Looking to gain confidence to meet the challenges in communicating with or selling to diverse
and multigenerational employees, managers, supervisors, customers or clients who are different
from you? You’ll find those answers in this session, which involves learning to understand and
respect differences and others’ viewpoints – even when they are out of sync with or different
from your own – even generational differences. We’ll also explore the impact of and learn to
self-check for stereotypes and barriers to valuing differences. Discover four steps to
understanding. Recognize and correct issues that block full participation. Manage disagreements
before they become conflicts.

10:40-11:30: STEPS to Being a Leader and Communicating Wherever You Are
You can lead from wherever you are – regardless of your title, and in this presentation, you’ll
learn how to do just that. Today’s leaders are expected to do more with less, and since you can’t
do it all yourself, engaging and persuading others is Job 1. Your ability to train, coach,
communicate and build rapport and relationships has never been more important than in today’s
workplace environment. You’ll pick up tools to not just communicate with others, but to really

techniques to persuade and influence others to greater levels of performance and positive
