2. FACEBOOK
• FACEBOOK: I used Facebook as a tool to
promote my film. Facebook is a very popular
social media platform among young people.
For example Facebook reaches an average of
1.79 billion users per month, and in the case
of the film Silence (2017) over 46,000 people
'liked' the page, thus clearly expressing their
interest in the film. Pictured right is the
Facebook Page I made for our film.
3. INSTAGRAM
• INSTAGRAM: I used instagram as a platform for
my film opening because instagram can be used
to share often exclusive images from a film, as is
the case with the instagram for Captain America:
Civil War (2016) which used exclusive pictures
from the making of the film. It is evident that the
instagram page was successful because it had 58
thousand followers. Pictured to the right is
the Instagram page I set up for my film.
4. TWITTER
• TWITTER: Matt used Twitter as a secondary
platform to advertise our film. Twitter is an
extremely useful tool for a filmmaker because
although there is a 150 character limit with
each tweet, you can make posts that are short
and precise, for example a filmmaker could
make a tweet saying "Critics are praising
Fantastic Beasts and where to find them; when
will you get your ticket?". this directly addresses
the audience and relays to them information by
critics who love the film, which makes the
reader want to see the film much more.

created for our film
5. TUMBLR
• TUMBLR: I used tumblr as a secondary
platform to advertise my film opening
because tumblr can be used to share short
videos and images as well as information in
the format of a blog, which is very useful to
a filmmaker as they can document in the
blog the stages that the film is going
through, and in the case of Doctor Strange,
they can release short scenes and trailers as
well as advertising people by announcing
special events (which they did) Pictured
