4. Learn to say “NO”
•Don’t be the “YES MAN” when you
don’t have the time, motivation, skills
to do the task.
•Say “NO” to task that have little
impact on your targets

5. Delegation
•Assign task responsibility and authority to others.
•Delegate to the right person.
•You are still responsible for the completion of the task.
•Give objectives or expected outcome, not procedures.

6. Planning
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail and you will
waste a lot of precious time while failing
•Physically write them out, to give them a tangible form.
• First thing in the morning, check what’s ahead for the day.
•Complete the first one on the list before starting anything else.
•You need to differentiate between URGENCY & IMPORTANCE

Urgent activities demand immediate attention, and are usually associated with the
achievement of someone else’s goals, or with an uncomfortable problem or situation
that needs to be resolved.

8. Goal Setting
To avoid the pitfalls of confusion and lack of motivation, you have to clarify what you
want to achieve
SMART goal setting reference:
•Specific – “I want a job when graduate” is too general.
•Measurable – “I will attend five career fair sponsor by big five consulting firms”
•Achievable – “you can’t set goal if your country does not have consulting firms”
•Realistic – “ You can’t set a goal to be the prime minister when all you have is
SPM”
•Time Bound - What do you want ultimately? When do you want to achieved it?

9. Efficiency Vs Effectiveness
Often worst performers are those who seem to be working
hardest and longest, they are very busy but not effective.
No matter how many hours you are willing to work, time is still
finite. Long hours are wasteful if you are not doing the right
work as the right time.
At the start of the week, ask yourself: “What’s the most valuable
work I should be doing?
