The day after you retire, who are you? No status, no
job title, no easy answer to the question “What do you
do?” It’s a sudden seismic shift and brings new risks
and vulnerabilities to your life.
This is as true for those looking forward to the next stage, as much as for those who dread it. And for most of us, both are true; we all know friends who have retired well, but others who have not.
But retirement shouldn’t be an ending or even a cliff edge. It should be an open door – one you can walk through with confidence and pride.
Our retirement programme runs over a period of 12 – 18 months providing a positive platform to discuss and manage retirement. The programme will enable both you and your business to flourish rather than flounder through the retirement process.

Retirement Through Six Lenses
Our core identities are challenged when we are faced with such a
change as retirement and this can cause us to bury our heads in the
sand and avoid the inevitable conversations we must have. But it
doesn’t have to feel like we are jumping into the unknown if we have
time to reflect and prepare for the changes we face.
For the retiree this programme provides the time and space
to explore the bigger questions in life, making the retirement
discussion easier and more positive because it puts them in the
driving seat of the next phase of life.
For the employer the key benefits of the programme are:
3. Lens one
Reflecting
Focusing on the key themes of your transition
What does this transition mean to me?
My fears going through this transition?
Exploring thinking frameworks for transition
Exploring practicalities eg. My financial needs

4. Ian Graham
Trainer and mentor
Co-creator of Retirement Through Six Lenses
I retired in March 2018 after over 30 years as a
solicitor in a city law firm, 28 of those as a partner.
When I left the firm I moved from a full time,
demanding, leadership role to working part time on
a range of things including running training courses
and undertaking non executive roles.
I understand the nervousness many people feel
when considering leaving a senior role and how this
can lead to the decision being put off.
My own experience was a very positive one. I can
bring to those considering retirement a perspective
based on real and recent experience.
Tracey McEachran
Existential coach and artist
Co-creator of Retirement Through Six Lenses
I use an existential coaching approach to help
clients negotiate and find ways to thrive through life
transitions.
My transition came when after 20 years working
in senior corporate leadership roles I returned to
full-time education to retrain as an executive coach
and an artist.
I am also the Chair of the London board of Wish
(Women in social housing), I am a motivational
speaker and a practicing artist.
Using our own experiences along with a combination of coaching and creative practice we help clients find ways to
redefine their sense of authentic self to embrace and grow through the transitions they face.
Gordon Walker
Executive and transitions coach
Co-creator of Retirement Through Six Lenses
My personal experience of transition includes
redundancy, working abroad and retirement from my
VP role. These events directly inform my approach to
coaching career planning and transition. My clients
may have been outsourced or made redundant,
others have sought new challenges or to move
beyond the boardroom.
I help clients re-evaluate themselves and appreciate
just how naturally talented they are and have a
confident approach to their new challenge.
