Director of Public Relations – Sierra Donor Services (September 1994 – Present)
• Develop, implement and budget comprehensive, strategic public relations and education
campaigns to increase organ and tissue donor designations – achieved and maintained highest
rate in state
• Create a variety of multi-media award-winning components, from brochures and billboards to
videos and websites (awards listed below)
• Lobby state legislature and help develop/draft/implement laws to establish statewide donor
registry and grow it; founding President of Donate Life California Organ and Tissue Donor
Registry, and now Board member. Grew registry from 100,000 to 12+ million
• Led and coordinated three million dollar statewide ad campaign for Donate Life CA – hired
ad agency, media buyer and helped create collateral
• Researched, wrote and obtained numerous grants for outreach projects, among them a
$300,000 grant to target Hispanic audiences
• Act as proactive media spokesperson, achieving unprecedented media coverage for agency –
generating average of 50 stories annually, 99% initiated by news releases
• Coordinate and lead numerous community-wide events annually, including: Hospital
Collaborative, Hospital Award Celebrations, Donor Family Gatherings, Volunteer
