To whom it may concern or colleague.
I've finished a contract as a English/ Drama, workshop Teacher at Yunnan Normal University in
Kunming. I have been offered a contract to stay on in my current position, but I have decided to
return to Australia to find other work, as I would like a new project or challenge where I can
combine all my overseas, past and recent experiences to meet new goals. Last year I was contracted
at Vic uni for early university pathways and worked as a casual relief teacher and CIT teacher at an
international school in Melbourne. Having had my own business and having some building
background as well as agriculture and machinery along with my sculpture training allows me to
competently teach technology amongst other things. My diverse experience has given me
confidence to interchange between the different disciplines. Two years ago I was contracted at Al
Taqwa college teaching year 11VCE English and Business, year 9 English and Humanities. The
previous years I finished a contract teaching VCE Design technology prac and folio, wood tech and
year nine and ten Systems at Loyola college in Watsonia. All these roles included marking students
work, reports, parent teacher interviews, collegial meetings and curriculum design amongst many
other task. Many of the subjects I have been teaching the last few of years are diverse such as art,
media, drama, PE and technology including VCE level which I really enjoy. My Methods are IT
and creative arts. I have completed my research honours in communication and the arts where I
produced a thesis. I have a public sculpture and a personal IMDB site. I am proficient with new
learning and other subjects I've been teaching are English, humanities, science, sport, food tech,
Italian amongst others.
My Objective is to-
gain a position and effectively work in Education, Training, Public Relations/ Advertising or
Management, Media production, Human rights Visual Art, Film/Drama,/ Media Adviser/
Government, Public, Private or Corporate sector. With a view to create a dynamic portfolio and
expand the organisation's and my portfolio through quality representation, strategies and methods.
I have a Graduate Diploma for Secondary Education and my methods are creativity and the arts and
teaching information computer technology. My major during my Multi Media degree was
professional writing. For my diploma for visual arts I majored in sculpture and completed 2
painting minors and we covered communication graphic design also included in the multimedia
degree. I am coherent with the VELs system and VCE standards for the application of lessons and
cross curricular activities. I'm willing to use a variety of pedagogies to engage students for effective
learning.
I make art in many disciplines, write poetry, scuba dive, snow ski, kayak, enjoy sports and being
pro active amongst my community. I have also been involved in the leadership program at
university and have been successfully nominated for a leadership awards. I have many
2. achievements, team and individually recognised from a local and international perspective. I wish to
continue to the best of my ability with what I am involved in at the time. As I have a diverse career
behind me including swim teaching and training officer in the SES I can draw on many experiences
for reflection and problem solving or strategies with my natural creative talents. Also I can
communicate effectively with my friendly engaging manner to contribute to a team effort for
positive outcomes.
I have a good sense of humour and have found it to contribute to a sense of fun in the classroom.
During all my activities I have maintained a strong sense of collaboration for achieving progressive
goals for positive community rapport. I have been living in Melbourne since undertaking my
degree and made many friends whom I value contributing within the networks associated with
them. I can function equally well between rural and urban settings.
Feel free to contact me via the phone, email or mail stated in this letter.

To whom it may concern,
Trevor worked at our school over the course of a year as a student teacher. He was very professional in his
preparation for lessons. His delivery of subject matter was excellent and he established a very good rapport
with the students.
I would highly recommend him as a prospective teacher.
I would be glad to be a referee for him.

To prospective employers or whom it may concern.
I came to know Trevor Donoghue through my work as head of art at Sunshine North collage where I
mentored him in my classroom pedagogy.
He taught art, graphics, literature, with many different mediums and strategies including computers to
engage the students in research and prac.
Trevor"s class lessons consisted of compressive presentations with demonstrations and he would roam
around the classroom assisting all students at an individual level.
He displayed a keen interest in the student's progress and would participate in dialogue with myself and
other staff.
He produced written reports on students progress inline with the school policy, curriculum and goal setting.
I found Trevor be genuinely friendly and caring to the interest of those around him along with a good sense
of humour.
Trevor conducted himself professionally in the classroom and outside the school environment in which I
found his work was of a high quality.
I would gladly recommend Trevor to any employee in the education system as a teacher or otherwise.
Feel free to contact me in regards to any queries you have in regard to my recommendation of Trevor.
Yours Sincerely

7. Reference
To whom this may concern,
I am privileged to write in support of my dear friend and student, Trevor Donoghue. Trevor studied
in my classroom for close to three years, during which time I witnessed his tremendous growth and
development. This development came not only in the area of creativity, and leadership, but in
maturity and character as well.
Trevor quickly learned to manage his time, work in group situations under strict deadlines, and to
recognise the importance of a strong work ethic, persistence, and intellectual integrity. He has long
since become the most valuable member of my student-lab team, and a role model for his younger
classmates.
I highly recommend Trevor Donoghue to any program, or employer with absolute confidence and
without any reservations. He has made me proud, as his teacher and friend, and I am sure will
continue to do so as he departs from Victoria University.
Thank you for the opportunity of correspondence, and please feel free to contact me regarding
Trevor's suitability into any program or employment.

To whom it may concern
Trevor Donoghue is apart of Victoria University’s ambassador program which is a group of elite
students who represent the University. They promote the University and their experience to
perspective students. Trevor commenced with the program at the beginning of the 2009 and has
been a fantastic contributor ever since. Trevor has shown great leadership during that time and has
been excellent at recruitment events. Trevor has shown his ability to communicate effectively with
presentations to our perspective students on transition as a mature age student. I can always rely on
Trevor and am confident that he will continue to apply his enthusiasm and skills to all challenges in
the future.
