Training HCPs in Masaka region of Uganda to improve quality of
emergency obstetric care (EOC)
GOAL – Improved delivery of EOC and referral at targeted health facilities in Masaka
Region
OUTCOMES -
1. HCPs competently delivering EOC and adhering to timely referral procedures 3, 6
and 12 months after training
2. HCPs trained as trainers competently working alongside UK volunteers to deliver
the course in at least 2 subsequent courses
OUTPUTS –
1. HCPs with improved understanding and enhanced skills to deliver EOC from health
facilities in Masaka Region, immediately after training
2. HCPs with improved understanding of and enhanced skills on how to teach the
course after attending train the trainer from health facilities in Masaka Region
