RECAP - ADDITIONAL INFO.
Joseph and Mary were cousins - same blood line.
Had Judah been a free an independent nation - Joseph the
carpenter would have been her crowned King.
                      Perspective.

During the espousal period all communication between
Mary and Joseph was carried on through a friend.
                       Tradition
MATTHEW CH. 2

            Roman tax collector
P,S,Sc - saw Jesus associating with a traitor.
Preached among the Jews for 15 years.
Wrote his gospel in Hebrew
                    Jewish name Levi
                 Matthew - gift of Yaweh
Despised by the Jews - Mission among those who hate you.
What do you see? As we go through Ch. 2 point out those
              things that catch your eye.

1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of
Judæa in the days of Herod the king, behold, there
came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the
Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are
come to worship him. (New Testament, Matthew,
                     Chapter 2)
6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda,
art not the least among the princes of Juda:
for out of thee shall come a Governor, that
shall rule my people Israel. (New
      Testament, Matthew, Chapter 2)
9 When they had heard the king, they
departed; and, lo, the star, which they
saw in the east, went before them, till
it came and stood over where the
 young child was. (New Testament,
         Matthew, Chapter 2)
11 ¶And when they were come
into the house, they saw the
   young child with Mary his
   mother, and fell down, and
worshipped him: and when they
had opened their treasures, they
presented unto him gifts; gold,
 and frankincense, and myrrh.
   (New Testament, Matthew,
           Chapter 2)
16 ¶Then Herod, when he saw
that he was mocked of the wise
men, was exceeding wroth, and
sent forth, and slew all the
      children that were in
Bethlehem, and in all the coasts
thereof, from two years old and
  under, according to the time
    which he had diligently
enquired of the wise men. (New
Testament, Matthew, Chapter 2)
19 ¶But when Herod was
dead, behold, an angel of
the Lord appeareth in a
adream to Joseph in Egypt,

 20 Saying, Arise, and take
the young child and his
mother, and go into the
aland of Israel: for they are

dead which sought the
young child’s life.

Would you have noticed the pregnant woman on the donkey?
Would you have shown compassion for the weary pregnant woman?
When we travel are we so concerned about ourselves that we routinely bypass
                                others?

How would you feel if you had the opportunity to see the saviors birth, to help
and show compassion to Mary but you didn’t see. You slept 30 feet away.
Would you have felt something as the pregnant women passed you searching for
a place in the cave? Would you have offered her yours?
What would be the depth of your sorrow in the spirit world when you realized
how close you were and that you did nothing?
