This presentation is based on two things that I have put together in a single presentation. I have attended Ph.D viva and book presentation of The Devi in the Diva

2. 1. Ph.D. Viva: “Enhancement of speaking skills
through multimedia supported techniques: An
empirical Study” by Ms. Malini
• In this viva, she presented her thesis on speaking skills through
multimedia Because in this 21st century multimedia had gained and
gaining very prominent part of entertainment as well as learning.
• She presented that we all have a kind of fear of public speaking and
so that we are enabled to improve speaking skills. So here,
multimedia plays important role. We can practice by videos and voice
recording.

3. • When we try to give education to the students by the usage of
technology, at the same time it is necessary for the teacher to first
have knowledge about it and if they have it, then they need to
implement among their students.

5. 2. Online talk on the work Devi in the diva
• In this session, the author Shyoanti Talwar presented major points of her
recently published Book ‘The Devi in the Diva’.
• It traces the goddess in human form and her many manifestations and tales i
contemporary cinema and television web series.
• According to the writer, this books depicts Goddesses like Parvati, Laxmi,
Saraswati, Kali, Durga.

locateS not only one more than one archetypes.
• Like for Parvati she presents archetypes such as queen, rebel, pioneer,
teacher, nourishing mother, leader .
• Laxmi as critic, judge, negotiator, queen warrior, shape –shifter,
planner.
• Saraswati as scholar, disciple, seeker, pioneer, creator, mediator, artist,
activist , advocate, warrior.
• Kali as rebel, outlow, warrior, devouring mother.

8. • The point which i really like is to compare myths with cinema.
• There is lots of movies and web series, which female characters have
similar archetypes to Godess.
• Earlier we wer doing comparison of Cinema to myth but it is an
excellent book and also initiative of myth to cinema.
