Statement of explanation 	 Folio Task One  Semester One
The form I have decided to use is:          Most of you will be doing a descriptive narrative or a short story All you have to do it highlight the form you have chosen of write it in under ‘other’
Audience Who is your audience and why might they engage with this piece of writing? Where might this piece be read or seen and who might it be directed at? Why might that group be interested in the piece?
Purpose What is it you intend your audience to understand as a result of reading your piece? Are you making a comment about society? Is there a social message? Inequality between the sexes? Violence in society? School? Bullying? A comment about relationships?
Connection to Context, Prompt and Text How does your piece show an understanding of the context of Encountering Conflict? How does it explore the prompt? Does your piece illustrate how the responses of your characters show an understanding of how we all encounter conflict differently? Does your piece explore internal or external conflict?
What choices did you make in terms of vocabulary, punctuation and language techniques to best suit your intentions? What perspective have you narrated from and why?  Did you want to have the freedom to get inside the heads of all the characters to make the narrative more engaging?  Did you want to have the reader feel as though they were there actually experience the trauma of conflict first hand? Where have you used similes, metaphors and personification? What effect did you hope to achieve?
