The document discusses the key features of Photoshop that the author used to create a magazine cover. They used the quick selection tool to cut out an image and the healing brush tool to correct blemishes. The author also applied gradients to create a background color and struggled to figure out how to change the color of just the artist's hair using the colorize and paint tools.

What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
2. Photoshop
The main feature I used to produce my magazine was
Photoshop, and to begin with, I started off with the quick
selection tool to cut the image of my artist out of the
background so I could re-size it and put it on the cover of my
magazine. The person I took images of had a few images on her
face, so I then used the healing brush tool to correct the
blemishes and to make her skin look flawless. Here are
examples of how I used both of those tools:

I then went on to use the gradient tool to create a background
colour for my image as the cover would have looked too plain if I
didn’t do this. This created a good effect for my magazine cover
as it created house style with the rest of the features I had on
the front cover. After that I wanted to change the colour of the
artists hair to reinforce the house style of my front cover but it
took me a while to figure out how to do this. Eventually, I
discovered that I needed to colourise the whole picture, and
then paint everything black, as this would turn it back to its
normal colour, and anything that I wanted to keep the colour, I
had to paint white. I really struggled with this feature and it took
me a while to figure out how to do this.
