Imagination, Chicago, Illinois
Manager, Digital Strategy, 2015 – Present
In my time creating content marketing strategies for clients, I am most proud of our campaign for a financial services client that has driven over 300,000 unique visits to a brand new site, and compelled over 6,500 people to recommit to their financial future, all in the first three months. I love leading our digital marketing team to create meaningful content marketing strategies, then driving real results by getting the right content in front of the right people at the right time through email marketing, social media, search-optimized content, and thoughtfully targeted paid media. I also lead agency-wide teaching sessions around marketing metrics and analytics to ensure our 90+ person team is comfortable with this sometimes-intimidating topic.
UBrew, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Co-Founder + Digital Marketing Manager @UBrewMKE, 2013 – 2015
UBrew classes were started to create a low-commitment way to learn homebrewing. Through local audience research, planning and engagement, I grew our social following to 1,000+ in six months with zero ad budget, and I’ve gotten UBrew covered by several local blogs and magazines. With a firm handle on managing this community remotely, I’m on to my next adventure.
Kauzu, Chicago, Illinois
Marketing + Operations Manager, 2012 – 2013
Kauzu is a tech startup that better connects local jobseekers and employers with its jobs map. I led the effort that grew our job seeker user base by 325% to over 10,000 Chicagoland users in under six months through email marketing, social media, paid & organic search and content marketing. I left Kauzu to try my hand at founding a startup of my own.
Skills & Tools
Along my path thus far, I’ve come to know and love several of today’s marketing tools like Buffer, HootSuite, Facebook/Twitter Ads, Google Adwords, Mailchimp, WordPress, and basic graphic design programs. I manage projects and data with the help of tools like Basecamp, Trello, Slack, HubSpot, Google Analytics and Excel. I’ve used PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, and SlideShare to create impactful presentations, and Qualtrics and SurveyMonkey to gather valuable audience feedback. I love finding new ways to connect all of the above tools through automation tools like Zapier and IFTTT to streamline repeated tasks from both my professional and personal workflow. Most recently, I’ve become well versed with StackAdapt and Sharethrough, two of today’s fastest growing programmatic native advertising platforms.
Interests
I’m an aspiring homebrewer of sometimes drinkable beer. I love exploring the many corners of Chicago with my wife, Whitney, absorbing the latest content marketing hacks through a long list of podcasts, and spending an embarrassing amount of time researching every move on my Fantasy Football team.
