2. Finance For financing a television production, a budget is required. In the budget are the costs of all the equipment you will need eg cameras, tapes, lights, tripods. These are production equipment, but you would also include post production for example an editing suite, editor etc. In a real production you might have separate budgets for each department. But for this project it is just all one budget. The reason for doing a budget is to gain a rough estimate of how much it would cost to make a production like this and helps me learn how to budget for future productions.
3. Equipment and crew sheet. The purpose of an equipment crew sheet is to know what equipment is needed for a production, how much is needed, so that you can be fully prepared for production and post production. This helps because it reminds the team what is required, what to book from hire companies and what they might need for each day.
4. Production Schedule The purpose of a production schedule is to get prepared for each stage of the production by deciding the dates in which to complete tasks by. This is very useful because it means that the team can to stick to the schedule in order to get the production finished on time.
5. Script A script is the story of a production, but written in lines of characters with directions that the characters take. It also tells you where the scene is set. The reason for a script is to show the actors what they have to say in the video. And useful for the crew because they know the scene so they can decide where to position cameras etc.
6. Requirements Requirements are used to preparing what equipment, costumes etc you will need to for shoot to commence. It also covers if you’ve got the equipment booked or not. And if the actors you’ve asked have confirmed.
7. Location recce A location recceis used to look at the different locations to see if it’s a appropiate place to film. Looking at the hazzards and things that need to be taken into consideration when in production. They use a location recce in productions to examine the location and get an idea on how filming there will be and decide whether to film there or not. They will do several location recces before finding the right location.
8. Gant chart A gant chart is a production schedule which shows you what things you are doing and the time they need to be done. People use gant charts because it keeps you on schedule and reminds you of what needs to be done and when.
9. Risk assessment A risk assessment isused to note down all the possible risks that could take place on a film set or the location that you are filming on. This allows you to solve the possible risks and prevent and accident from happening.
