• In 1987, it is renamed to “PowerPoint”.
• PowerPoint 1.0 was first released in 1987 for the
Apple Macintosh.

for overhead transparencies.
• In 1988, the first full color version came into
market.

• In August 1987, Forethought & PowerPoint were
purchased by Microsoft Co. for $14million USD.
• In 22 May, 1990, first Windows Version were
produced.
• Same day Microsoft released Windows 3.0.
• Since 1990, PowerPoint has been standard part of
the Microsoft Office.

• PowerPoint presentations is the system
requirements involved.
• A computer, projector, screen and electricity will all
be required.
• It will also be necessary to dim the lights in the
room to allow for proper viewing.
• Risk of technical difficulties.
• The success of the presentation depends entirely on
the proper functioning of technology.
