4. Hanging Gardens of Mian-Jin:
Mian-Jin is the aboriginal name for the land on which the current CBD is
located; it stands for “place shaped as a spike”. The hanging gardens of
Mian-jin are a modern interpretation of the legendary Gardens of Babylon
and represent the first out of three stages for the expansion and new master
plan of South Bank and North Bank.

5. Design Manifesto:
Through population increase and the increase of the urban environment of
the CBD of Brisbane it is already evident that the current boundary of the
CBD created by the river cannot contain the growing city. Unable to cater
for this growing population South Bank needs to update its current master
plan.
This design proposal aims to fulfil two main objectives; first of all to provide a
new connecting point with an focus on pedestrians access between the
growing CBD and South Bank. The second objective is to simply provide the
future population of Brisbane with more open green spaces of different
uses.
The Hanging Gardens of Mian-Jin are a design unlike any other around the
world and aim to bring a new and improved appreciation of Green Spaces
based on the legacy established by South Bank.
