อุปกรณ์ที่ใช้พลังงำนไฟฟ้ำในกำรให้ควำมร้อนกับสำรละลำยจนเกิดเป็นไอระเหยหรือควัน เพื่อนำเข้ำสู่
ร่ำงกำยด้วยกำรสูด (inhalable aerosol) ลักษณะเด่นของบุหรี่ไฟฟ้ำคือสำมำรถสร้ำงควันได้โดยไม่เกิด
กระบวนกำรเผำไหม้(combustion) เหมือนบุหรี่มวนแบบดั้งเดิม บุหรี่ไฟฟ้ำสำมำรถแบ่งออกได้เป็นหลำยประเภท
ตำมกำรพัฒนำ โดยบุหรี่ไฟฟ้ำรุ่นที่ 1 นั้นจะมีลักษณะภำยนอกคล้ำยบุหรี่มวน ใช้แล้วทิ้ง หลังจำกนั้นมีกำร
พัฒนำเป็นบุหรี่ไฟฟ้ำรุ่นใหม่ๆ เช่น รุ่นที่ 2 และ 3 สำมำรถให้กำลังไฟฟ้ำได้สูงมำกขึ้น ทำให้สร้ำงควันได้ใน
ปริมำณที่มำกขึ้น สำมำรถเติมน้ำยำได้ บำงรุ่นสำมำรถปรับปริมำณควันที่สร้ำงได้ด้วย บุหรี่ไฟฟ้ำยังสำมำรถ
แบ่งประเภทตำมส่วนประกอบของน้ำยำบุหรี่ไฟฟ้ำได้ คือ บุหรี่ไฟฟ้ำชนิดที่มีนิโคติน (Electronic Nicotine de-
livery system; ENDs) และบุหรี่ไฟฟ้ำชนิดที่ไม่มีนิโคติน (Electronic Non-nicotine delivery system;
