WHAT WE BELIEVE
1. We believe the Bible to be the one and
only inspired Word of God.
2. We believe all men and women
are sinners and need to repent
and change their lifestyle for
salvation.
3. We believe in baptism by
immersion as a part of the plan
of salvation.
4. We practice the celebration of
the Lord’s Supper each Sunday.
5. We believe we have the
responsibility to share the
message of Jesus Christ in our
Community and throughout the
world.
Making a place for YOU!
2. TWO MINUTE TIMEOUT
A COUPLE WINTERS AGO I WAS HIKING ON THE CREEPER TRAIL IN THE SNOW. I WAS
ALMOST OFF ONE OF THE TRESTLES WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, A RABBIT RAN RIGHT AT ME.
HE STOPPED JUST A FEW FEET FROM ME AND JUST LOOKED AT ME, HIS LITTLE NOSE
TWITCHING. I WONDERED WHAT IN THE WORLD HE WAS DOING. SURELY THE RABBIT IS
NOT ATTACKING ME I THOUGHT. THEN HE RAN BACK INTO THE FOREST. IN JUST ANOTHER
FEW SECONDS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRAIL I SAW ANOTHER CRITTER COMING OUT
OF THE WOODS AND STOPPED SUDDENLY. IT WAS A MINK! HE SAW ME AND JOE WHO WAS
WITH ME AND TURNED AND RAN BACK THE WAY HE CAME.
BACK HOME I STUDIED UP ON MINKS AND RABBITS. MINKS EAT RABBITS. RABBITS ARE
AFRAID OF MINKS. IN FACT SOMETIMES A MINK WILL FOLLOW A RABBIT INTO ITS’ OWN
BURROW AND THE RABBIT WILL DIE OF A HEART ATTACK BEFORE THE MINK KILLS IT. THE
RABBIT I SAW NO DOUBT SENSED THE NEARBY MINK AND WAS SEEKING PROTECTION. I
GUESS MY PRESENCE SCARED AWAY THE MINK. AT LEAST FOR A TIME.
IN THE SPRITUAL REALM, WE ARE A LOT LIKE THAT RABBIT. WE ARE DEFENSELESS
AGAINST OUR ENEMY, SATAN, WHO WANTS TO DESTROY US. HE EVEN FOLLOWS US INTO
OUR HOMES AND FLOODS OUR FAMILILIES WITH HIS LIES. WE NEED SOMEONE TO
PROTECT AND DEFEND US TOO. FORTUNATELY BY THE GRACE OF GOD WE HAVE SUCH A
DEFENDER. HIS NAME IS JESUS. WITHOUT HIM ON OUR SIDE, WE WOULD BE NO MATCH
AGAIST SATAN. BUT WITH JESUS, HE CAN’T DESTROY US. HARASS US YES BUT NOT
DESTROY. JOHN WRITES:
1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one
who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
TAKE HEART! BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. WE ARE NEVER ALONE. WE HAVE VICTORY IN
JESUS!
GOD BLESS US ALL. I LOVE YOU!

Skiing with God
Anyone who has been skiing before knows how important the ski poles are.
They help you start down the mountain, they help you control when you need
assistance, and can even help you stop if you’re going slow enough. I relate the
poles to the Holy Spirit. It does the same things, helps your start your path to
God, you can always lean on the spirit to help guide you in the right direction,
and absolutely can prevent you from falling to sin. But most important thing is to
never lose your ski pole, you've lost a key piece of your ski outfit. It makes
steering and stop and going much more difficult if not impossible. Just the same
if you lose the spirit then you've really hindered yourself. They make straps that
go around your wrist to help hold on to them just like we have a cornerstone in
the bible for a secure way to hold on to his spirit. So if you skied before you
understand and if you haven't you need to search for videos and see how crucial
the ski poles actually are. Afterwards sit down and relate to the example of the
pole and Holy Spirit and see how bad a wipe out can be without either one.
